Come on Jimmy how many times have we seen QB's either not go after that play or give a "QB type effort"
do you think Teddy is that type of QB?

I know you dont care for him as a QB,  but you cant honestly say that the kid isnt all effort all the time.

In a conversation about Teddy or Case, other QBs arent really germane to the conversation so I wouldnt bother considering comparing Case (or Teddy) to them.
What does this have to do with Teddy? I didn't make any comparison to Teddy at all. For the record I think Teddy is all heart and I think he would challenge on the play the same if not more.

I didn't bring up any other players specifically. I brought up the overall mentality of people playing the position today which seems to be that we have to keep the QB from engaging in physical play which has created the mindset of the people that playit.
its in a conversation comparing Teddy and Case.  Scott is making a case for Case over Teddy and then saying he doesnt see that type of effort from other QBs would be inferring that Teddy wouldnt have made that play.  at least thats how I would read it in the conversation that it is taking place in.
Dunno, but arguing for a QB because he hustled down to make a tackle on an INT isn't exactly making a great case.
Case is making his own case, I'm just pointing it out.  and it matters in the big picture.  If I'm the coach I want a guy who goes all out all the time.  I want to know how you react to adversity.  As far as would Teddy make that play?  I have no idea and I didn't make that statement for precisely that reason, because I knew someone would make that comparison. If I had to make a comparison yup I would take Case over Teddy making that play.

I was really not making a case that case IS THE ONLY QB that could chase down the defender like that.  Yeah I realize that he caused the situation.  He didn't throw his 2nd INT in as many throws and throw his head down, no he chased the defender and beat him to the end zone (yeah he took the correct angle) There are people looking for an opportunity to play Teddy and people claiming Zimmer is too.  They will read into anything/situation as proof.  So two passes two interceptions Why was Case not pulled and replaced with Teddy?  My answer is because Zimmer is not looking for a reason to replace Keenum!  besides he's the coach, he can do what he wants.

it would be much easier for Zim to put the issue to rest than to keep fielding the questions on it.   He is considering the move for sure and I would wager that he is probably looking for the correct time so as not to raise to many red flags or to alienate players.  If Zim wasnt considering the move... he could simply point out the very same things that have been made in countless arguments on this board and say that Case is his guy,  but to date there have been no ringing endorsements of Case from Zimmer.   They will acknowledge that he has played pretty decent,  they arent going to stick their heads in the sand regarding his efforts,  but his flaws are very evident to those that are looking and that has to be what is opening the door for Teddy.

I see this as a game by game situation..... First half Case keeps his job,  second half Case is looking very hard over his shoulder going forward.  JMO

It has been said before by others here and even in the media--there really is no perfect time to bring Teddy back. I do agree, however, that it shouldn't be against the Rams. Initially I was looking towards the next home game (Rams) as being the best time, both from the home field perspective and from a PR one as well (though the PR part only matters to folks like Spielman and the Wilf's). I would say now that it isn't a good week to do that. I don't know if against Detroit is good either, but we have 2 home games left after this weekend and I gotta believe the team wants Teddy to be playing in those games. Is it the right decision?? None of us can say that for sure because we are not the Minnesota Vikings front office, GM, or head coach. I do feel like Zim has a balancing act to do here--and though I feel Zim (and Spielman) are trying to find the best time for Teddy so as not to set him up for failure, I think there's pressure to get him on the field regardless. There are fans wanting it and I'm sure ownership wants it. We'll see, I guess. I still trust Zim to do what's best for the team and Teddy, but it's a balancing act for him for sure.

I stick with Case this week.

My main reason for for sticking with Case is that I saw some real progression from Keenum in the Redskins game that I have been looking for all season.  To me at least, he looked like a good backup QB until last week when he looked like a very good starting QB.

My novice QB eye saw Case miss so many throws, open WR's and mainly stick with first reads and scramble/buy time until the Redskins game where he was making second and even third reads, still able to buy time and stay in pocket, I didn't see any open WR that he did not hit and he was mostly accurate.  He still throws a couple floaters over the middle every game that will cost us soon but overall he was a legit starting QB clicking with the whole offense and especially the WR core.

Up until the Redskins game I was advocating for Teddy ASAP based on what I saw as backup QB play.

One other point that favors Case again this week.  He faced pressure with Teddy back in uniform and him starting on the road against a good team.  He performed extremely well under pressure internally and externally.  It's not like we have been a very good road warrior team under Zimmer either.

That is my Case for Case vs the Rams.  If he continues to progress and play like in Washington I stick with him.

I have absolutely no problem if they take a risk with Teddy, the upside is enormous. Case is playing at his upside which you can no doubt win games with. But I really don't think Case can take this team to a Super Bowl. Its not that he isn't capable of starting, its the fact that at some point the team is going to be down 10 pts late in the 3rd quarter and I personally don't think you can win that game on Case's arm. His accuracy is just too erratic. Teddy isn't going to come in and throw for 300+ a game, but I do think if he plays on par with his 2016 level the accuracy and ball placement alone will erase the lows.

I agree with this. Teddy may not toss for 350 yards per, but the guy isn't going to be tossing those balls over the heads of WRs and miss some WRs who are running wide open down the field for a check down like Case has this year. Yes, Case has played out of his mind, but that is this O, that is this QB-friendly system, that is our WRs catching everything within 10 feet of them. Our OL has given him time, Shurmur has put Case in a position to succeed, and our WRs have made it work. Let Teddy see what he can do in this system for a few games (in the same system both Case and Sleeves have had the best games/times of their careers in) and I bet Teddy does well too.

UGGH, the quote feature is less than ideal
I don't think Zimmer has to do anything, he has not created it.  He doesn't like the media, so the QB situation is NOT and issue for him. it is for the media and the fans. If he is looking for the right time as to not raise too many red flags then why wouldn't he do what you suggest he does?  again if he's looking for an opportunity to put in Teddy WHY after throwing 2 interceptions back to back did he not put Teddy in?

The reporters are always looking for an angle a crack a juicy story  Zimmer's goal is to win football games and put his team in the best chance to win. I bet if he had the option to do the PC or not he would choose NOT.

I think its already been announced when somebody reported that the press schedule has Case listed as the QB that will be available for the media today.  I think he did enough against DC to warrant keeping the job even though he had a big let down in the second half so I am not really surprised by this.
