CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora reports the Vikings will stick with Case Keenum at quarterback for Week 11.
Drama killer... Wink

Jason La CanforaVerified account @JasonLaCanforaVikings will be sticking with Case Keenum as their starter this week I'm told. Highly productive. Clicking w/ receivers. Great fit in scheme
I think he's guessing, not reporting.

Zim didn't let anyone know Griff wasn't playing until just before last Sunday's game, and yet he's willing to leak who his starting QB is?

in fairness... does it really matter who the starting QB is going to be for the Rams?  There is no current tape on Teddy and nothing on him in this offense so really they would be studying tape of Case anyway and preparing for him essentially.   Teddy is going to be a wildcard for the opposition until he has a few games back with Shurmur to show any tendencies.   However IMO defenses will be bringing a ton of pressure once Teddy is in there in order to find out if he is ready mentally for the mess around that repaired knee.

Based just on historical precedent for coachspeak, this sounds like it’s Teddy Time
    Gregg Rosenthal added,
Tom PelisseroVerified account @TomPelisseroZimmer says he knows who the starting QB will be. Won’t say publicly before he speaks to everyone else.

If the starter keeps his job, coaches usually say it Monday. If there’s a change coming, they say I need to talk to the team and announce later. Don’t need to speak to everyone for status quo

I agree that this statement has Teddy starting all over it.  Just don't forget where you heard it first... Smile

Yep, I agree.  The offense pretty much would stay the same, I would think.

I admit I just want it more interesting by seeing Teddy out there.  I'm not sure how often this kind of injury comeback works out, but it'd be awesome to see.

I also think the other NFC contenders have better QBs than what we have in Case.  Teddy is really our only shot at improving at the QB position this year.

I personally would stick w/ Case, can you imagine what it would be like if Teddy starts & gets reinjured? That could suck the life right out of our season...

so an hour after the coach says he will tell everybody wednesday.... he decided to let lacanfora in on his plans?  the way Zim likes to hold his cards close to his chest he just spills the beans 2 days early?  count me as skeptical....not that he is going to start Case... that he would let it out so soon.
Lol, I just laughed when I saw that.  WILL stick, not will likely or should.  As if he knows. At least I couched mine as an opinion.

LOL.  Zimmer is an old school, throwback coach. He wants to win close games and let his defense close them out.
And if it were Shurmur's call, I suspect we would get the same thing.  Case is making Shurmur look like a genius. Of course, Case has to get the ball to the right spot, but Shurmur makes the play calls. It's only when Case has a brain fart that the play looks like crap. And that's all on Case.

I agree with this and mentioned it with @1500ESPNJudd. Teddy has never done what Case has done this year. Doesn’t mean he can’t, but…
Kevin Seifert added,
Aaron RuparVerified account @atruparReplying to @SeifertESPNcan teddy? people are losing sight of fact that Keenum has been better this year than Teddy has been at any point in his career

Yeah and you know who else Case has been better than ever this season? Past Case Keenum. You have to project who is the best. If they are wrong (give Teddy these next 2 games) then go back.

Sticking with Keenum is the prudent move in the short term... If we weren't playing again on Thursday its a different story...
