Getting rid of the CBS/NBC TNF games would reduce each team's salary cap by $7 million. Don't expect them to go away any time soon.
switch the thursday night games to saturday night games,  give the players 2 more days to rest up and recover,  but still take another prime time slot.
Saturday night is a primetime deadzone. No way the NFL would switch to that time spot. People are out doing things or at home doing things on Friday and Saturday nights, not in front of their TVs anywhere near as much as other days of the week. They would also go up against college football prime games as that demographic is used to college football on Saturdays. No way that happens.
and Sunday morning used to belong to God,  peoples patterns will change if they want them to.  They could put the games on saturday night as matchups that are otherwise only regional games on Sundays anyways... I mean if nobody is watching on Thursdays... what difference does it make what day of the week they arent watching?

Dude, lol. You are stubborn as the day is long. TV viewership is basically a science. The networks know everything there is to know about who is watching when, broken down by key demographics. They ain't moving the NFL to Saturday nights. Advertisers dictate what they'll play and ratings dictate how much the NFL can charge. Saturdays are one of the weakest days of the week for prime time other than Friday night.

yeah, and you are flexible in opinion.... thanks tea pot.

all im saying is the fucking thursday night games suck for everybody,  if they want to pick another prime time slot to occupy they should try saturday nights.  maybe its not the best time,  but I doubt it would be a hell of a lot worse than thurday nights.

Yeah, it would be. Thursday and Monday night are some of the best prime time viewing of the week. Saturday isn't. The NFL won't be able to charge the advertisers the high rates they are accustomed to. It won't happen. The only reason they decided to try Thursday nights for the NFL in the first place is because everyone is watching their TVs that night.

The players are bitching about Thursday nights and I get why. And the ratings are down. But they still kick the living shit out of almost everything else that's on and are making a shit ton of $$$$. The problem is that the matchups have been garbage on TNF. NFL fans used to watch any matchup they slapped in that time slot, but that ship has sailed to a certain extent. Viewers have been more selective because the NFL is oversaturated. And  it caught up to the league.

I hate Thursday games for all the reasons already stated. That said, if they arent already, would they use that night for flex match-ups?

that would be a ticketing nightmare.  imagine having tickets, travel arrangements, hotels etc and then have the game moved up 3 days?
