What are some things you've learned about pro sports watching them over time?

A biggie for me is sometimes good teams just don't play well...It's unexplainable other than they're human and have their off-days. Just like us.

Refs or the league favor people/teams to get their predetermined outcome. And it feaking sucks. I don't know if I can honestly say there is zero officiating bias in any of the major sports anymore.  That is sad.

@JimmyinSD will inexplicably jinx your team at the worst possible moment... Like that time when our Vikes were riding a 7 game win streak, positioned with a 2 seed (5 weeks to go), and the Super Bowl was in Minneapolis...

Best team isn't always the one who wins the championship.

Sports TV and Radio is pretty much the guys equivalent of gossip TV.
At least for me, the highs of your team winning are never worth the lows of your team losing.  Don't take it so seriously.
Fantasy sports are a great way to be busy, but there's no payback for me.  Invest that time in your life.

Less is more regarding pregame shows...I remember when Brent, Phyllis, and Irv provided a decent amount of content in 30 minutes...now you've got idiots screaming at you for four freaking hours with 10 minutes of tangible content...

One should not let your favorite team loosing affect your life because in the big picture it really doesn't matter if they won or lost.  It is only entertainment.
Who can remember who won the Super Bowl or the World Series four years ago?
