HA-HA-HA-HA!!! Glad to see the elementary school humor is still in force! Insightful, intelligent and soooo amusing! Keep it up, girls!
Unlike all y'all, I have a life outside of my Viking fandom that takes precedence over coming here to read 3rd grade level "insights". But for the record, I DID post last week several times.....even commented that it was a "great win". But don't let facts ruin your fun! I truly hope the Vikings make a deep playoff run (for the first time since 1987), but if they don't, I'm REALLY looking forward to all the excuses you Mensa members will put forth!
P.S. Kentis : Apparently you need to change brands....it OBVIOUSLY doesn't work. YOU were able to get your tiny hands on it and you are without question the BIGGEST asshole it's been my misfortune to encounter on any message board. Try a name brand instead of the generic Acme label!
And to all you losers that INSIST on calling me out and insulting me, without having even posted a comment :
A deep run in the playoffs? We made the nfc championship game in 98, 01 and 09. The Vikings are indeed snake bitten but weve had shots at returning to the superbowl.
Sigh... "deep runs" consist of MORE than ONE playoff WIN. It takes 3 or 4 CONSECUTIVE victories in the postseason to claim the SB trophy. 1 win means jack shitt. Understand now?
PS If you're refering to the "seasons", as you do with the '98 and '09 references, the other NFCC was in '00, not '01 , but given THAT one was the 41-0 debacle, do you REALLY want to include that one in your lecture?
Sigh.....is the NFCC further into the playoffs then the wildcard weekend? Are you really suggesting that getting in as the 6th seed and winning 2 games to get to the NFCC vs getting in as the #1 and winning 1 is different?
Does this logic hold up in winning the Superbowl 6th seeds are more impressive than 1st and 2nd seeds?
Speilman hasn't won a big one yet but at a minimum at least we've been competitive under him. There is so much worse out there!!! Enjoy the season.
I don't have any problems with NJVike. He has valid skepticism of RS.
I disagree with the absolutes though.
As with so many discussions that turn unpleasant, it dissolves when people treat each topic as if there are only two exclusive options. Either Spielman is a great success and best GM in the NFL or he's an incompetent fool who should be fired. Either Treadwell is doing everything fine and is bound to become a star or he was a wasted pick who should be cut. Either Zimmer is the best coach the Vikings have ever had or he's garbage and it's time to blow up the team.
Evaluations aren't binary decisions - there's a lot of middle ground. Another poster might be happy for the team's success so far AND point out needed improvements or be concerned that we have a long history of disappointment after good starts.

I think it has more to do with some people using every single opportunity to inject the same opinion into a thread ( thusly derailing what were often otherwise good conversations)... and others getting tired of reading that point and saying something about it only to then be verbally degraded. We see differing opinions on here daily with a lot of good discourse and exchange on those differing ideas, I think this is more about the posters than the actual content. ( myself included)

Agree, it is the few posters making the same point over and over again and then arguing and calling names when others differ.
The ignore feature works great BTW. I used to think that using the ignore would make me miss some good points from these posters but it is the same point over and over again so "ignore" it is and the only thing I am missing is being baited into negativity.

Yeah I really didn't get the whole "It is more respectable to get in with a worse record and win more games than it is to get in with a better record and higher seeding"
Best thread of the year...
Rick will be our g.m. for many years to come, no amount of crying about it on a message board will change that. Enjoy the reign of Rick!
I'm not going back to read from the beginning and it is pretty clear that I have the Bass on ignore...but this thread did bait him in and then go for the hook-out. Ignore is much easier, just saying. Don't expose yourself to the same rant over and over again!

Can't help you if you lack the basic understanding that 2 playoff wins are better than one.
To date, the SIGNATURE victory for the Vikings this century remains the Tice/ D'oh-nte ROAD PLAYOFF WIN against the Packers. And that team followed that victory with a typical Viking bitch-slap loss the next week. Final record : 9 - 9.
Is it better to be the 1987 squad and win, CONVINCINGLY, on the ROAD, against the dynastic 49ers and a Saints team that I recall having double digit wins?
OR, going 15-1, setting the record ( since surpassed) for most points scored, and then winning a HOME playoff game against the Jake Plummer Cardinals and then LOSING to the Chris Chandler Falcons AT HOME?
Sign me up for the 1987 team...2 road playoff wins trumps ANYTHING the Vikings have accomplished in the past 30 years.
I guess we will have to disagree in regards to what playoff SUCCESS means. I associate success with WINS. You are obviously more enamored with NFCC APPEARANCES.
Once again, I will remind fans that it takes 3-4 CONSECUTIVE PLAYOFF WINS to win the Super Bowl. Winning 1 home game against a marginal team and then shitting the bed in a CHAMPIONSHIP game is NOT IMPRESSIVE..... Unless the NFL has started passing out banners for NFCC losers? If so, I will definitely NOT be buying one of those "participation trophy" t-shirts.
Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, not in professional sports.
1 playoff win is step one. Show me a few playoff wins and I will be more than willing to give credit to the Vikings Organization.
But until that happens, I will be a confirmed "Show Me" fan.
Peace.
