I think high IQ is probably more important than the normal measurables at CB.  That might apply to most of the D, hence the struggles of Allen and Hargrave.  Van Ginkel is a poster child for this D.

The whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Was it 6 consecutive games without giving up a passing TD at some point ? There’s a reason BFlo is the highest paid DC by a considerable margin.

Something like that. Whatever it was, it hadn't been done in 37 years. With nary a Pro Bowler on defense too. Makes you wonder what Flores could do if you actually gave him an elite player or two in that secondary. But like Greed said, what Flo considers elite likely has more to do with football IQ than H/W/S.

My appreciation for BFlo has grown over time, not waned...

Gut says DC/Asst HC is the sweet spot for him job wise - but I'm sure he wants one more at bat being "the head guy"

Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

I am on a completely different side of the fence on Flores. Admittedly, it is hard for me to be neutral on him, because I was very familiar with what he did in Miami and also think his lawsuit on the NFL is complete BS. His ability to evaluate talent is a concern for me. He gets a lot of credit for his blitz schemes, but they are not different than what many are doing. The fact that no one else was close to hiring him with all the HC openings and the emphasis on hiring minorities says a lot. I really do not get how the Wilfs would hire a guy who is essentially suing them. Just not a fan on many levels.
