Why is Eisen spending 75% of his show trying to convince everybody JJM is not going to win a TC competition against a 7 year veteran?
WE KNOW THAT ALREADY LOL!

Really like Eisen, one of the few who talks rationally and objectively on topics and breaks them down in simple components as opposed to putting his personal opinions and emotions into it. As a Michigan guy he is a huge JJM fan and you could tell it was somewhat challenging for him cause he loves the kid, but he stayed on course.

JJM has every reason to step up his game for this season, regardless of whether KOC names him starter for Game 1.
Looking at KM's injury history, one could surmise that he is likely to get injured. He certainly missed a ton of games due to injury two of the last 3 seasons.
JJM ought to embark on a little sports history lesson and learn who Wally Pipp was.
If you need a refresher, Pipp was the Yankees first baseman who was a two-time American league Home Run champion, playing on the same team as Babe Ruth. Pipp was a fixture at first base for ten years, until something happened. He got a headache and wanted to have the day off. His replacement? Some kid named Lou Gehrig. Gehrig started the next 2,130 consecutive games for the Yankees.
So JJM better be ready to step in at a moment's notice if KM has a hiccup, allowing the planets to align for their own Wally Pipp moment.
Stranger things have happened. Mark my words.

I get what you are saying, but I don't think I ever loved coach speak more than listening to Crusty old Jerry Burns talk after a game, especially when the Vikings lost. Then, even better was listening to KQRS the next Monday for Jeff Passel to do his Coach Uncle Burnsie Bedtime story stuff! The good old times! lol

The difference is the Vikings are bringing in who they feel is Gehrig in Kyler Murray

I think this is like a politician or a lawyer - watch what they do more then listen to what they say
Especially on a prickly subject like a starting QB.
Exactly. This is actually one of the things KOC does well. For some weird reason I can't quite seem to grasp, people bitch about the coachspeak and word salads as if this is somehow new or unique to KOC, or even sports. Leaders of every organization have to be able to signal confidence, direction and accountability without saying something that is going to offend or come back and bite them in the ass. It's not something all leaders do well.

I don't think anyone thinks Murray is Gehrig and JJM is hardly a long time starter getting replaced by a better starter.

Hype, coachspeak, and whatever else notwithstanding...
...JJM's job this offseason is to show growth, across the board. He needs to get bigger/stronger/tougher, he needs to push his passing fundamentals to new levels, he needs to work on his "touch" so he can rely less on his "piss missiles", and he needs to study the playbook until it's written into his DNA.
He needs every moment he can schedule with JJ, with Addison, with Hock and even Jones. He's got to bring the latest, most upgraded version of himself to camp possible.
None of this is caused by Murray's addition, it all needed to happen anyway...but, the need to answer the challenges certainly gained volume.
Step up, kid. A whole lot of us would love to see you be THE GUY for many years to come.
KOC, JJM, Flores...make a good plan, or you'll be following Kwesi....

At this moment, I'm not ready to anoint either one a starter until the bullets starts flying...anything can happen until the very first snap of the ball...
