Russini: Look for teams to return their attention to Greenard

I think the minimum I would take is a 2nd and a 4th. Look at the Eagles and 49ers. Eagles have two 3rds and two 4ths. 49ers have four 4ths. They also have pick 23 and 27 respectively.

I think the Vikings are right for playing hardball on this. You don't get the deal you need, then just keep him. Greenard may be holding their feet to the fire though, because he's clearly not happy with his contract.

I guess I can see your point.   I can see the Vikings having what I believe a young superstar in the making in Dallas Turner who needs to be playing that position and Greenard wanting a new contract so it does make sense for the Vikings to move on and get the best deal they can, don't need holdout drama if Greenard wants to rework his deal.

Next on the agenda for the Vikings is to work out a trade for Greenard for a first round pick or a high second round pick...then start planning for the upcoming draft.

JG is under contract for 2 years. Holding out is really painful for players under the current CBA. Hold onto him as long as it takes. JG does not have the leverage here; the Vikings do. I don't care if he is unhappy. I'll trade him for Jalen Carter or a top 20 pick. Otherwise, I would keep him.

Certainly not advocating trading Greenard but if deemed necessary I would consider a 2027 #1 (along with a 2026 3rd or 4th) to start building capital in what is purported to be a much stronger draft.

take the 1 this year,  you can always use it to trade for additional capital this year and somebody's first next year if you dont want to stick and pick.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

JMO, but Jeremiah Love is going to be a much better NFL RB than Ashton Jeanty.
