We get a GM who knows how to build a roster through the draft and FA and KOC will start winning playoff games if our QB situation is improved in 2026.

That’s the plan. I do wish they’d get going on the search. Brez can lead the draft. That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be hiring our guy.

Hopefully so, but to me this last season was very telling when it comes to OConnell as a coach and the bloom is off the rose. Throw out the "quarterback whisperer" bullshit because there's too much evidence to suggest otherwise and he's no more of a whisperer than Brad Childress. My other huge concern with OConnell is that I don't believe his style of offense is conducive to winning playoff football games. You cannot be allergic to running the football and he's proven (as evidenced by his season ending presser) that he wants to run "his" offense and throw the football all over the field. That may when you games in the regular season against poorer teams, but when you get to the playoffs, you better be able to run with some affectiveness and stay committed to trying to do that. OConnell is 29th overall in rushing attempts by team since he took over. To me it's a major concern moving forward.

Supa you can keep on with this I suppose, but sidenote-- After recent events are you at least ready to stop banging drum that the Wilfs don't really want to win? They kept the team in Minny, spend big on the roster, got a new stadium pushed through, and don't embarrass us in the media like some owners do. Plus they've fired quite a few front office people with lots of money left on their deals. The results haven't been there in the playoffs and I'm not saying they belong in the NFL HOF, but they're def trying to win. They just haven't figured out how.

I agree with some, but not all:
Where we agree is on KOC and running the football...And frankly I saw a little bit of that same approach with the Rams this playoffs.
This was especially evident on short yardage and red zone plays. Just comparing how The Bills manage those situations vs McVey and Stafford was night & day.
I do "hope" that the new hires brought on to the offensive staff will improve this part of the offense. It'll help JJM a bunch too.
Hurry-up Vikings, we ain't getting any younger!

Here's a newsflash: the team was never leaving. The NFL covets the Twin Cities market. And every team builds a stadium, a bunch are being built right now. Again, these are nice things but they aren't indicative of any sort of football success. Hell the New York Jets, one of the worst ownerships in the league, have more playoff wins in the 21 years since Wilf bought the Vikings than we do and they haven't even been to the playoffs since 2009!

Well it's been 21 years, I'm don't know about you but I am not going to live forever. Neither is Zygmunt Wilf for that matter. Yet here we are looking at this rinse-repeat mess:
2022: Wilfs wake up from slumber to discover GM and HC resent each other, org is totally dysfunctional. Install new regime, promise collaboration, kumbaya. Go back to sleep.
2026: Wilfs wake up from slumber to discover GM and HC resent each other, org is totally dysfunctional. Fire GM, give HC all the power. Go back to sleep.
Sorry but I am not impressed with the Wilfs.

And how doesn't JJM have thick skin already, you keep bringing this up like he doesn't. Awkward? lol, trust me the whole JJM era so far has had plenty of awkwardness. How would this be new? IMO, its not KOC that needs patience with a rookie QB, its the fans.
I'll say this: its been very um.... 'interesting' to see some fans real thoughts on shit after this KAM firing.
That he wasn't qualified? That he didn't take advice and went against so much that was asked of him. Never should have got the job to begin with.

Playoff wins matter the most so I commend the Jets on theres, but regular season wins matter too dude. At least to me. Seasons are more fun that way.
If you're not impressed with the Wilfs that's fine. I just don't know why I constantly hear around here that they aren't serious / don't want to win. What more should they be doing in your opinion? Meddling around the building every day? It sounds like you're glad they fired KAM. That's a start then. Let's see how the draft and free agency go and then who the GM is. Maybe this time the Wilfs will get it right.
