I'm convinced that even with someone like Nick Mullens this team is in the playoffs.

As a starter or playing the games that JJ McCarthy missed?  I mean Wentz and Brosmer went 3-4.  They did a solid job of keeping the team competitive when McCarthy was out with injury.  Not sure Mullens would have improved on that record.

I agree, I was recently telling someone the same thing. If the Vikings would have known from the start Daniel Jones was leaving, they may have kept Mullens around or got a better back up QB.

Agree. With Mullens you have to put up with all the picks, but the man could run the offense, throwing for 303, 411 and 396 yards passing in three of his last four starts in Minnesota. Vikings averaged 166 yards per game passing this year. I don't know where that ranks in our history, but I suspect it's been a decade or more since we've seen that kind of passing ineffectiveness.

Been a decade or more since they have attempted to develop a QB though too.

I think Brosmer might have a future. He played better late in the season, and I'd like to see him stay as our developmental QB3. Wentz wasn't horrible and if that's who we're left with after the music stops, I'd be disappointed, but we could do a worse. I think he's our failsafe—our QB2 floor. 

But make no mistake, it wasn't our backup QBs who kept us competitive. It was our defense. When your best WRs go from scoring 19 combined TDs in 2024 to 5 combined in 2025, ya got a problem.

I too believe he will be a hell of a insurance agent.
