Other team's Fans feeling the pain
#1
Just think, your team had what was supposed to be a REALLY good draft by the punditry,  almost everyone gave them an A- to an A+.   Coming off an 11-6 playoff season.  Another year of experience under Jordan Love's belt.  The Packers start off by throttling the Lions and Commanders, 2 of the best teams in the NFC a year ago,   Stumble against the Browns but nonetheless start off 5-1-1 leading the division as the rest of the division stumbles around.   The front office goes ALL in trading away 2 first round picks and Kenny Clark for Micah Parsons.  Parsons has now suffered a torn ACL and is out for the season.   The Packers stand at 9-4-1 with a realistic chance of losing their next three games.   They are at Minny, a hungry Raven team in to Lambeau and at Chicago.  I don't think 9-7-1 is going to get them in the playoffs.   Both Dobbs and Watson are constantly injured.   I know some pretty rabid Packer fans and they are openly admitting Green Bay needs to blow it up as well.    We are certainly NOT alone.   Lions fans are also feeling the same thing we are.   To go from 15-2 to currently 8-6 is quite a let down.

Going to be an interesting next month and a half and boy the offseason is going to be crazy if you ask me.   In the AFC the Chiefs are a mess, Kelce is washed, how long is Reid going to keep coaching?  The Bengals SHOULD be blown up, that roster is too far gone on Defense and way too Cap top heavy on offense.   Ravens?   I did not see them being as average as they are, the Steelers are aging fast too.  I see some massive changes coming for a lot of teams.

After the Packers won last week I posted that they wouldn't win another game. Their last 3 games are at the Bears, Ravens, and at Vikings. We will soon see.

There are not many more tortured fan bases than ours. 14-3 to out with 4 games to go, no Super Bowl wins, no appearance in the big game in almost 50 years with 2 crushing conference championship losses in between. As far as the Packers, if they beat the Bears next week they will be in first place. They can easily win the division still and an excellent chance of making the playoffs. Not like the Bears are a dominate team.

I'd have to say the Lions are a pretty tortured fan base...

I absolutely LOVE (and envy) some of the players on that roster. No bigger Gibbs fan than me outside of Motown. But I cant help but think they missed their window, or its just not meant to be.

I dont know if the Chiefs will get another run with Mahomes or not? Chiefs nation has had 3 lifetimes of SB wins.

Gotta put the Bills in the consideration set too.

2 crushing losses in between?   I would say '77,87,98,2000,2009, and 2017 were ALL crushing losses.   Ugh.   Your point stands though.

The Lions will experience what we did in the Zimmer years.  Any good OC is going to get hired elsewhere and they have to start over on offense.

Idgaf about Detroit. They can sit and spin. I don't root for any other team in the division.  I can empathize with Bills fans. The Chiefs are going to be on the shelf for a bit. Have fun with Minnshew unless they do something different

Yeah, I'm not actively rooting for anyone in the NFC. Ever. Only their tears of frustration getting bumped out of the playoffs in the ugliest manner will satiate me.

Years ago I would root for teams that had no trophy but now I will not root for any of these teams:
Saints, Buccaneers, Seahawks, Rams, 49ers, Falcons, Giants, Eagles, Cowboys, Commanders, Packers, Bears, Lions.

That leaves only 3 teams; Vikings, Panthers, Cardinals.

Lots to unpack there. Fans are dumb. Our own fans were declaring we needed a rebuild, despite being in year one of the build portion of the last rebuild. Go on reddit or facebook comment section and it’s like the dumbest stupid takes, just one after another.

Your team only really goes as far as the QB will take them. I just don’t think Love is the guy that can win them a SB. Even with all the gnashing of teeth, fans had during the first starts of the JJM era, you’re much more likely to find that SB caliber QB through the draft, and yet we had all those people that wanted the security of a mid level veteran QB to spare them from losing some games (without acknowledging that what they want is limiting them from achieving a SB).

With Mahomes ACL tear, I think next year is the perfect year for them to rebuild, like the 49ers have done. Just gut the old expensive guys and build back around newer younger guys. Take all the cap pain and squish it into the one year you’re likely limited by Mahomes still recovering from the injury. It’s a little tough that so many of their expensive players are on the Oline.

As far as rooting for team. I just want teams that don’t have a SB win to get one. I just don’t need to see the same old teams that have won 3-4 plus SBs getting more of them.
