I'm sick for the kid, but he's just horrible back there sometimes. It sure is looking like I completely got his NFL potential wrong. This team is hard to watch with him at QB. He's got some qualities you can't teach, but his accuracy is so inconsistently bad. I don't know how much longer KOC can keep him out there for the team's sake and the home fans are just going to boo the shit out of him. He doesn't look like a starting NFL QB....sigh. I really, really thought he'd be something different. If he gets benched, and I would guess at some point that will be considered, he's done in Minnesota. Maybe not today, this season....but as the long term answer. IMO, Brosmer is going to get a shot before the year is done so the staff can have a look. When JJ said this week that he has to do a complete brain rewire on how he was taught to play the QB position, my fan heart sank. This is the reason guys bust out or never make it, that very issue. I don't think I've ever seen a guy suck like this and rebound with his current team.
Just another Viking's disappointment in a lifetime of disappointments following this organization. This is the year to put me over the edge I think, lol. Going to save myself some grief and stay away from some football games for a few weeks and take a break. Tired of it, man. Thanksgiving dinner always makes things better!

I don't think anybody saw this happening. It's just so sad for the kid, the fans, the organization etc. I still think you try and resurrect his career here, but the sooner you get him off the field the better it will he for all.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

To be fair, A LOT of people who do this for a living including someone who is known as the QB whisperer got it wrong.
I’m not sure how you could see him practice and then see him play and have much to say. He’s putting up a 2nd worst this century type performances.
I’m not sure what you do to get him to play even remotely ok. This can’t be good for him or the organization from a mental health standpoint. I actually feel bad for the kid. He obviously put in the time, it just didn’t translate.
I’m just thankful that the rookie wage scale exists so we’re not set back half a decade by him.
It’s time to reboot. If you’re old you gotta go. If you’re a big salary and not a superstar you need to go. If you’re part of the GM and scouting staff you need to go. It’s that bad.
I think the coaching is salvageable. Look at Mcvay. He had to reboot and is rocking again. KOC can bring us a championship home.

Bryce Young was beyond terrible and seems to have rebounded with his current team. Coincidently, Young started getting better after Josh McCown was fired as his QB coach. Just saying...
Look, the kid should be playing better. You have the "quarterback whisperer" as his coach and playcaller, a really good supporting cast, and he had the benefit of sitting out last season and learning the offense. Inexplicably he looks like someone who has never thrown a football in his life and has zero awareness on what's going on around him. The thing that gets me is, how can what KOC was seeing in practice from McCarthy, cause the organization to go "all in" on him to the point they didn't give serious offers to their own guys and passed on signing Aaron Rodgers? It leads me to believe (along with Sam Howell), that KOC is a mere mortal like the rest of us and really doesn't know how to identify good quarterbacks from bad ones. Certainly a scary thought moving forward, especially with the current decision makers in charge

Oh fuck this loser. The Vikings have a very specific problem at QB. And it's a bad, BAD problem. But let's not make more out of it than what it is. I have no patience for those who always want to turn a specific problem into an org-wide, team-wide, history-wide, fanbase-wide royal fellowship of self-pity.

Yep, super bummed for JJM and Vikings nation. I really thought JJM was finally going to be our drafted long term answer to our QB prayers. And he may still become and NFL QB, but I agree with Sticky, if he doesn't turn it around quickly it won't be with the Vikings.
Fingers still crossed JJM gets it for the Seattle game and beyond.

They are going to have to find a way to get him off the field while saving face for him and the organization, I expect some type of phantom injury if he continues to play this way, possibly saying the knee or ankle never fully healed and they need to get him some rest.

His introduction to the league hasn’t been ideal. Off the top of my head, suffering an injury during his first pre-season game, leading to missing the rest of the season, becoming the first QB drafted in the first round to miss the regular season due to an injury. Going against B-Flow’s unique defense during pre-season & practices, becoming a father just after his first NFL victory, several injuries to the O-line, numerous drop pass by the WRs, KOC’s play calling, and perhaps some internal competition with the other QBs in his draft class.

Up to KOC to find that space of what's best for the team vs whats best for JJM.
I dont know if there is any overlap there or not?
Keep playing JJM or sit him a bit or longer? Tough call and I am inclined to keep playing him if it doesn't destroy the locker room.
I agree, just a sad situation. I dont sense a happy ending as it pertains to McCarthy - hope I'm really wrong on that too.
We could be looking to draft another QB in 26 - and may have a top 10 pick to do it.
