I think you can probably do this for every NFL team outside of Green Bay.....plenty of fuckups drafted at the QB spot to go around.

For me it was the perfect combination of bad coach and bad QB...As much as this year has been a frustration (for me), it could be worse lol!

The Ponder pick was my worst draft day experience.

For me that was 2016 and Laquon Treadwell. I was no Ponder fan, but at least with him I felt there was some hope he could develop. In 10 minutes of watching Treadwell's clips, I could tell he couldn't play in the NFL. It wasn't his lack of speed. It was his lack of NFL athleticism. Zero juice. You could see it a mile away.

There have been others I felt this way about. Justin Gilbert, OJ Howard, Trent Richardson, a couple this year in Kenneth Grant and Kaleb Johnson. The difference with Treadwell is that WE were the team who picked him. It's been 9 years and I still have a sour taste in my mouth about that dreadful Thursday night.

Ponder's time in Purple pretty well defined "teams fail young QBs". He was coming along pretty well in 2012, but got hurt...

...and Percy got traded, with no real substitute attained...

...Greg Jennings, at the end of his career, was our "threat" receiver...

...the o-line was completely putrid...

...AP was about to start losing his s**t in huge ways...

...and Frazier is likely STILL checking the tape.
Take the Momentum and Build, Vikings!!

Ponder was putrid himself but Peterson was still All Day and basically the only reason we were winning any games at all. But I agree with you on the rest. Bad coaching and a bad roster at that time.

But more importantly pf why why would you ask us all to revisit this

For all the star power the Vikings have had at WR (AC, CC, Moss, Reed, AT, Diggs, Jefferson...) those were some bleak years at that position.  Berrian, some large slow guy from Chicago that I can't recall a name for.  Ugh it was bad.
