I would have bet some serious coin on...

TJH having a great year being that safety blanket for a rook QB

Its not happening, part of it by design

I'm losing some of my affinity for keeping TJH around much more after this season.

ytd: 31 receptions, 241 yds, 2 tds

He's been used a lot more to block this year, but you don't pay a TE to block, especially when you already have one of the best blocking TE's in the game.

I agree that he'll probably be a cap casualty or should be if we can't figure out how to get more value out of him in the back half of the season, especially since our OLine is shored up now.

Adding another legitimate TE this offseason should be on our long list of needs. Teams cannot simply know what you are doing offensively by having Oliver or Hockenson in the game, and thats exactly whats happening as evidenced by some statistics posted on here a few weeks ago. Oliver is almost a total non factor as a pass catching option, but is the highest paid blocking TE in the league. We need to get better at that position

Yup, a guy who can run routes....I like the vet presence for JJM this year, but I think this team needs to get younger, faster at TE and RB next year.

We would be better off using a 6th OL than having TJ on the field. He is a complete non-factor. He had looked really good the year we traded for him, but has been pretty much invisible since. Not a physical TE, can't fight for the extra yards, not a lot of value as a TE. It initially looked like a great trade, but not so much now.

I would've truck-sticked over half this board to get on the other side of that bet pf lol.

It's unfortunate because there's been plenty of TEs who have had very long careers, but either TJH is flat washed post-injury or he needs a change of scenery. Either way, he's not worth half of what the Vikings are paying him to play the role that they have him in.

I've been really down on both Hockenson and 'Speedy'. Nailor to his credit made the huge catch last week to win the game and this week played outstanding. His endzone grab was a thing of beauty. I'd love to eat some Hockenson crow too but what week is this now, 11? Maybe I just don't "know ball", but I don't really see anything TJ's doing that someone like Tyler Conklin couldn't also do for a fraction of the cost.

I like Hock, but his inconsistent hands have been an issue at least since he got on the team. He's the constant streaky player, in that I'm "done" with him just in time for him to pull in some big passes and a score, then I like him but he's blocking and/or dropping passes.
Take the Momentum and Build, Vikings!!

He looks the part of a Viking, but plays the part of a fat english friar.
