If the Vikings gave-up two #1's for Gardner?
I would have had mixed emotions - the kid is only 24 years old!

He is only 24? wow. Dunno, with KAM's draft skills, might be worth it.

I'd rather they didn't. But ask me in 3 weeks and my answer might be different. What that Flores D did to Detroit was pretty amazing. Forced them into 17 third down situations...17. That D is at its best when Minnesota is leading.

I'd be cringing inside. More fuel that Kwesi can't draft starters (because he traded all his good draft picks and that value doesn't count)
Realistically, we probably can't afford more long term, high value players. We have enough expensive veteran premium players, we need more young studs on rookie contracts and higher quality depth.

No way. I wouldn't give up 1 first round pick for him. I watched him against Jefferson and all he could do was grab him and hold him and incur penalty after penalty. Adding one great CB to a team isn't likely to have as big an impact as adding one great pass rusher. I would save my first round picks for another position.

I'd have been furious. Gardner's looked like crap for 2 years.
Helluva day for the Jets. Get 3 1sts and a 2nd total to blow up a defense that was crap anyway this season. |
