We better hope JJM has some magic

We were sold a bill of goods that, to date, have been woefully less than advertised. Came out of a pro style offense but we have to spend time on core fundamentals?

Hopefully he’s healthy and ready to go in Detroit. Hopefully Darrisaw and O’Neil are back too. I can’t sit through another 60 minutes of Wince.

I think people are reading too much into the fundamentals comment.

I think people keep reading into it like JJM is deficient at something and needed to go back to remedial school.

I kind of see it more like a kid asking what he should do on the bye week, and KOC tells him to just go work on his fundamentals, while coaches are busy self-scouting and everyone else is taking time off.

How Did that team run for over 200 yards on our mostly heathy defense? Might be something KOC wants to consider when our line is beat up and dysfunctional. I never did believe all that "we're going to run the ball more this year" garbage that was spewed all summer.

in fairness there are only 2 teams that have had more injury caused line combinations than the Vikes, and they werent 1 of them,  wanna say Browns and ..... Panthers or Titans (?) cant really remember for sure.

I questioned his pro readiness, but you pay for pedigree and he had that in spades,  so here we are.  he checks a lot of boxes in what I think most want in a franchise QB... now I want to see him check the "can play the position" box,  its hard to stay optimistic,  even harder when he isnt even on the damn field.

I dont get why when Wentz was having to be scraped off the field, and couldnt hit water if he fell out of a boat,  that Brosmer wasnt at least given a series earlier to see what they have there.  its just baffling how KOC wont go to the back up until current the starter is wearing a different teams jersey,  or is damn near dead.  just like in the rams playoff game last winter,  everyone with at least one working eye knew that SD wasnt going to get it done that day,  you had jones in your back pocket....WTF do you ride the crippled horse to your death?  especially when they knew damn well they had no interest at all in bringing Sam back.

Its all fans do is 'look into things'...its why a fervent online community exists, to take things down rabbit holes (at least today). Then the knee jerk reactions come in.

Its really simple: JJ just hasn't received enough snaps. ALL of last year after the injury: zero snaps. Look at Brosmer now, running the scout team. JJM had none of that all of last year. Then he didn't throw a football until what, like March? Then he gets injured after Game 2: zero snaps AGAIN until what, less than 2 weeks ago? A very young QB needs those reps like fish need water. He has much to prove, he needs to stay healthy: nobody is denying this for a second. Supporter, skeptic, or just a 'lets see' fan etc. we can all agree on this. But now we also see this isn't a sports car that JJ is getting behind the wheel of, its a very flawed team. So hoping for magic is one thing, expecting it is quite another. Fans will decide with their own agendas and narratives how they feel about JJM and that's the way fandom has always been.

The only thing I've ever wanted is to see more from him to form a better opinion. If he stinks, I'll be right there to say so. Contrary to some other posters, I don't need to be right nor do I need the QB to be 'my guy'....we all know how I feel about JJ on this board. But I just want it to be somebody...and it sure would be awesome if it could be the guy that we already have in house. JJM was the 5th QB taken and for a reason. The Vikings were never ever going to get close to the top 3 QBs taken in the Draft....those teams needed QBs desperately and were never going to trade out of those spots. Its very possible Minnesota might have pulled the trigger on Penix if he were there, I don't know. But they got McCarthy and he needs the reps and many games to show what he does or doesn't have. And he'll have to show it on a team that is way lesser-than than anyone conceived. QBs don't operate in a vacuum, there are so many unique variables to each one of their journeys that help make their learning curves better or worse. Our hope now as fans is JJM can improve in a lesser-than environment...can he rise above it? Some can and some can't.

Ive had a few days to turn away from Pro Football and it was good for my soul...This 22 year old kid needs to stay healthy and get a good full year to curate and just let things play out.

We all have to hope that this rash of team injuries stops so we can get a clearer bead on things. We could be in for a big set of coach/personnel changes this off-season.

Oh and shut-up with too much detail in your pressers KOC, it helps nobody.

I've been doing this more and more. Had a nice break from Wednesday morning to Friday morning, just staying off sports social media and the board. Probably take another nice break tomorrow until the end of the week, it really is nourishing.

I was assured for years that offensive line woes were simply excuses, and that all fault lied with our QB.

Granted, all the people saying that were fuggin' dolts, but...yeah.

No amount of protection gaffes will matter to the chunk of the fan base that always roasts our QB.
KOC, KAM, JJM, FLORES...RIGHT THE FUGGIN' SHIP!!
