The 2026 LB Class
#1
First noticed him last year. Career path like Urlacher. Puts Pace back on full time ST/part timer which appears to be his ceiling after badly regressing. Insurance for the annual Cashman injury. Currently the best combination of need/talent. Probably have to move up Day 2 and we have plenty of ammo to do so.

37. Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio State

There were times last year when Styles (6-4, 237) still looked like a safety learning how to be a linebacker. That’s not happening anymore. Now in his second season as a full-time linebacker, Styles has yet to miss a tackle in 293 snaps — and still moves like he could play safety again.

I approve of this message. 5-star recruit, NFL blood lines. Other than what I happen to catch on Saturdays, I probably won't start watching this class until December when we know more what our needs will be. LB is likely to be one. With Flores, versatility at LB is key so his safety background would seem to fit. Love the name too.

I like Swiss army type players at S and LB, but I think we are starting to see the rebirth of the running game in offenses and we may need to start weighing size and run stopping a little heavier when evaluating those positions. These RBs that are coming out are bigger and more punishing and we need to have box defenders that can not only get off the blocks, but be able to take the hit to the RB instead of just dragging them down after a sizeable gain. Im not talking about any specific player here, I just want to get back to having a couple LBs on the field that can bring some pain.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

Styles is really good but Arvell Reese is even better. However, I expect he will be a first round pick.

Reese probably goes top 10 if not higher.
