I don't know how it's twisting so badly over there, but I don't see this game as the daunting monster I did in August. Granted, we still don't know what we have in JJM, or if he's even the one playing this weekend, but Philly is obviously beatable. If our team continues gelling AND our QB, whomever that may be, has a good day...we should take the game.
We'll see which versions of both teams show up on Sunday.
It's officially SKOL SEASON!! LET THE PLUNDERING BEGIN!!

Well the funny think about the Eagles, is both versions of their team seem to show up each Sunday. Especially on offense.

I would be more optimistic if we could shut down RBs that their mothers have to look up who they are... I am thinking Barkley is going to tear our D a new asshole. I just havent seen anything close to run defense this year. Unless Gink and Cashman are back ( sounds like Cashman possibly, but not likely Gink) then I think we are going to see a heavy dose of their run game, which is likely enough unless our O has a monster day the like of which we havent seen yet.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
The Vikings opened the practice window for Blake Cashman
The Vikings have opened Blake Cashman's 21-day practice window, Head Coach Kevin O'Connell announced Monday. The linebacker suffered a hamstring injury against the Bears in Minnesota's season opener and was placed on short-term Injured Reserve on Sept. 11. He recorded three tackles at Chicago. "Will be great to get 'Cash' back on the practice field," O'Connell said. "He's done a heck of a job getting himself ready to go, and we'll give him the week of preparation and see where he's at toward the tail end of the week." O'Connell later noted returning Cashman is "critical" for the team. "We have just seen since we got Blake, when he's out there, and we're playing the type of defense that we've been accustomed to seeing, Blake's got a lot to do with it," O'Connell said. https://www.vikings.com/news/blake-cashm...ing-injury

The Vikings have an identity they wanted this year, but the injuries have prohibited it mostly from being exhibited. Tough to do much of anything continuity-wise when you are dealing with starter injuries like Minnesota has.
Cashman coming back will help the D big time. O'Neill, Donovan Jackson and Jurgens back at center will also be a big help.

Not to say we haven't had issues, but I think this is a bit overblown. Week 1, Swift had 53 yards, Caleb had 58. Week 2, Robinson (who is he?) had 143 and Algiers had 76 as they ran down the clock Week 3, Cinci's 2 backs had 38 yards total Week 4, Gainwell had 99, plus 22 from Johnson Week 5, Judkins had 110 with another 30 from others. So 3 out of 5 have hit 100+. Certainly not stellar, and I would have hoped our huge paychecks in the interior of that D line would be much better. But we aren't a gaping wound every week. I really think Cashman makes a huge difference.

Before they won the Super Bowl, I'm pretty sure Philly had a season where they were 10-1 or something and the wheels fell completely off. So while it does seem like they're due for a get-right game and it could certainly happen on Sunday, there is some recent precedent for them taking longer than a couple weeks to figure things out.
Philly should be favored, but I'm interested to see what happens. There's a chance we come out fresh off the bye and Philly's slide continues. There's also a chance we mess the bed. Oh and who is our quarterback? Lol. I don't think I can bring myself to bet the Vikings with so many question marks still, against the defending champs. |
