WTH is going on with Sanchez in Indy?
#1
Former NFL quarterback Mark Sanchez is in stable condition after he was apparently stabbed early Saturday. He is now under arrest for his role in the incident that led to his injury.

Sanchez was in Indianapolis to work as an analyst on FOX Sports’ broadcast of the Indianapolis Colts game against the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday. He’s been arrested by Indianapolis police on three misdemeanor charges related to the altercation.

FOX Sports announced Saturday afternoon that Sanchez was in stable condition at a local hospital.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has since announced that Sanchez was arrested at the hospital for “battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle and public intoxication” for his role in the altercation. All three of the offenses are misdemeanors.

CNN is working to determine whether Sanchez has legal representation.

Earlier, IMPD shared a statement detailing an apparent stabbing involving Sanchez that occured around 12:30 a.m. Saturday morning less than a mile from the Colts’ Lucas Oil Stadium.

“The incident involved two adult males, resulting in one man receiving lacerations and the other sustaining injuries consistent with stab wounds. Detectives believe this was an isolated incident between the two men and not a random act of violence,” the statement said.

“IMPD Aggravated Assault detectives are continuing the investigation and have reviewed video footage of the incident. Both men received medical treatment. The man with the apparent stab wounds remains hospitalized in stable condition.”

Police said the decision to arrest Sanchez was made following consultation with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office, which will make the final charging decision. CNN has reached out to the Prosecutor’s Office for comment.

Sanchez remains in the hospital and has not yet been booked into the Adult Detention Center, according to IMPD.

“Mark Sanchez was injured in Indianapolis on Saturday and is currently recovering in the hospital in stable condition,” FOX Sports said in a statement before Sanchez’s arrest.

“We are deeply grateful to the medical team for their exceptional care and support. Our thoughts and prayers are with Mark, and we ask that everyone please respect his and his family’s privacy during this time.”

I live in NW Indiana, my daughter lives down by Indianapolis, so we travel there quite a bit. There are bad parts of town, but yesterday X was blowing up with comments about how terrible Indianapolis is. Turns out, Sanchez could be a drunk Asshole!

I remember when he was at USC and they were ranked and playing Oregon State.  Oregon St thoroughly outplayed them and won.  Sanchez, as they were leaving the field and heading back to the locker room threw his helmet like an immature 4th grader.  He was cocksure about himself.  Came across as a dickhead, frankly.

There is another part of the story...apparently, he was making arrangements with a 17 year old girl as well.

On Friday, the folks at Deadspin hinted at a coming story of a relationship between Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez and a 17-year-old girl. The initial blurb, which didn’t and still doesn’t point out that a 24-year-old man who has consensual sex with a 17-year-old girl breaks no law, caused many to assume incorrectly that Sanchez could soon be in jail, especially since the headline proclaimed that “Mark Sanchez’s 17-year-old lady friend has found a lawyer.”

The truth is that Sanchez violated no laws or NFL policies, if the allegation is true. And the official story of Sanchez and a 17-year-old girl, which really doesn’t do anything other than provide enough detail to prove fairly convincingly that the relationship occurred, explains early in the narrative that Sanchez broke no laws.

So why, you ask, is it a story? Well, if the age of consent in New York were 18, it would have been a Lawrence Taylor/Mary Kay LeTourneau-type case, with Sanchez facing jail time due to a legal system that provides an artificial barrier to the ability of one human being to consent to sexual relations with a sufficiently older person. Even without the specter of criminal misconduct, it’s a story because it involves the highest-profile player on the highest-profile team in the NFL.

As we’ve said time and again, with the Jets’ unabashed desire for attention comes the reality of scrutiny, and a decision by Sanchez to date a 17-year-old necessarily will make headlines and raise eyebrows, regardless of whether it’s “right” or “wrong”.

If I remember correctly, he was also arrested for rape as a freshman at USC although the DA's office eventually declined to move forward with the case. I'm guessing there was a payout of some type to make it go away. These were the Pete Carroll USC days we are talking about here

And what is that supposed to mean.  You mean the coach with a Super Bowl win and two national championships.  You do know that Bush got his trophy back after they finally realized it was all BS.  How about we go take a look at the Notre Dame program, except they never will, because they inexplicably have their own exclusive deal with NBC, so let's talk about the ethics behind that.

No, the coach who bailed on the program before the NCAA handed down sanctions for a "lack of institutional control" and improper benefits being paid to players. Not a stretch to say there was some truth to that regardless on if Bush was given his trophy back or not
