Trump promises to cut off funding to NYC if they elect Mamdani. For those on both sides.  Does this rhetoric no worry you?  If we're going to cut off federal funding for areas of the country when the opposite party is in charge do we not have a significant problem? Knives cut both ways.  There will be a day when your preferred political party isn't in power.

Here's the thing with Trump; I ignore what he says, pay attention to what he does...

Frankly, that applies to all politicians and lawyers.

I read that too and then I went back and looked at what he said.  He said the Federal Government wouldn't be giving any EXTRA money to fulfill Mamdani's promises....

"Self proclaimed New York City Communist, Zohran Mamdani, who is running for Mayor, will prove to be one of the best things to ever happen to our great Republican Party. He is going to have problems with Washington like no Mayor in the history of our once great City. Remember, he needs the money from me, as President, in order to fulfill all of his FAKE Communist promises. He won’t be getting any of it, so what’s the point of voting for him? This ideology has failed, always, for thousands of years. It will fail again, and that’s guaranteed!  President DJT"

I agree with PF though.  I usually just ignore the day to day media activity from Trump and about Trump.  The hyperbole and hyper ventilation on both sides is nauseating. It's always about policy and results for me. Half truths like the one above just are intended to fuel division.

no offense AGR, or any Dem,  but its shit like this and especially Charlie Kirk stories that make it impossible to take much of anything from the left seriously when the news sources have lost all credibility.  Pretty much any headline put up by nbc, cbs, cnn, or about any other traditional MSM source is a half truth at best and in no way should anybody take them at even close to face value.

the snippet and run "gotcha" media really needs to be held to a higher responsibility for the issues in our country right now.  its really sad how people are clinging to their lies because they support a party that no longer represents the ideals that drew most to them in the first place.  ( and that goes for both parties and their puppet media)
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

An example of media bias from today.  I watched a little of the Trump press conference with the Pfizer CEO.  Pfizer has agreed to provide most favored pricing for developed Countries to the US and to make a $7B investment to manufacture all pharmaceuticals to be sold in the US in this Country.  That will drop the price significantly for many Pfizer drugs virtually immediately.  In exchange, Pfizer was given a 3 year deferment on the additional tariffs to give them a chance to bring up the new factories.  The Pfizer CEO was clear that the oft maligned tariffs were the big reason to get this done as the uncertainty was affecting their stock price.

So...a big day...and hopefully just the start to finally stop the US from paying higher prices than all other Countries to cover R&D for the rest of the World as well as yet more investment in the US and less reliance on foreign sourced goods.  Hopefully, it also provides a template for the other pharmaceuticals to come to a similar agreement.

https://www.cnbc.com/2025/09/30/trump-pf...ement.html

The headline in a few of the left leaning media sites after the news conference was "Trump agrees to provide a sweetheart deal to Pfizer to avoid tariffs".  Yea...that's the biggest takeaway from that announcement...lol.

I'm not sure when real reporting died and commentary/agenda's took over?

It had to be after Cronkite, right?

Yep.  I'm old enough to remember when he said "and that's the way it was"...and it was.  I actually think real reporting died with 24 hour news channels.  There isn't really enough straight news to report on for 24 hours a day...so you have to create controversy to fill the time and keep your viewership.  Walter Cronkite and others had half an hour to do the news...not a lot of time for nonsense.

You know I’ve never voted for a Democrat in a national election. I have a local ones because we’re trying to get a few assholes out of their 40 year cushy government jobs

That being said, I can’t stand Trump.

The problem is equally as much the public wanting to hear what they want to hear.  There’s a bunch of accurate reporting out there if people take the time to find it.  By and large, they don’t even try.  It’s easier to act informed than it is to be informed.

Life is hard for many.

People gravitate to their comfort space; it's natural, easier and confirming.

Social Media is the Oxy of this generation.
