Jeff Saturday, who was Manning's center most of his career, said every single play was based on max protect. The QB, no matter who it is, cannot be consistently successful when he's being sacked or getting knocked down. KOC doesn't get it. It'll be his undoing.

I mean, how many times have we seen teams set season highs for sacks against this KOC offense over the years? I mentioned this in another thread recently, but it's a trade off "gamble" type offense. Just by design, we are either going to hit big chunk plays or going to take sacks while the play us developing. There are zero adjustments in game no matter who is lining up on the field. There's no quick hitters, no screens, no draws, nothing to keep the defense honest. KOC is going to run his offense or go down with the ship, which I admire to an extent....but come on man.

I could be wrong, but wasn't our OL supposed to be "improved" ?

We were down 3 starters (Kelly, O'Neill, and Jackson) today and our backup C got hurt too.  If everyone is healthy it is improved.  We just haven't had a game yet with all 5 playing together.

We just don't know because we haven't had our entire projected starting 5 on the field at the same time at any point in training camp, preseason or four weeks into the regular season...and with the new injuries to O'Neill and Kelly that's not changing anytime soon. Wash, rinse, repeat when it comes to the offensive line.

With that said, the gameplanning and playcalling by KOC is as responsible for the plethora of sacks that weve seen as any of these injuries have and weve seen that play out several games a year since he's been here. You CAN NOT continue to call plays like you are coaching the 99 St Louis Rams when it's actually Carson Wentz (whos been here for a month) with three backup lineman trying to hold up in pass protection. KOC is deserving of any heat he gets this week.

As much as many games and even seasons feel like "loyalty tests" with this fuggin' team, this early season sure seems to be the same thing.

We're 2-2 with a hurt starting QB, injuries across both lines, and only got our WR2 back this past week.

As much as I try to watch every season just for itself, a months-long live drama with no promised outcome, this sure feels like a setup for a better run when people get back, and JJM makes strides. We all knew we were starting a new QB this year, speed bumps were inevitable, and we sure got 'em...

...but, it's less than a quarter through the season, and most of the league is cannibalizing itself nicely. Stay tuned.
It's officially SKOL SEASON!! LET THE PLUNDERING BEGIN!!

Its impossible for JJ or Carson to succeed with a line that so inconsistently provides protection.

....or a coach that refuses to adjust his playcalling accordingly
