It would be a great problem to have if Wentz plays well enough to keep JJ on the bench! I don't see it happening. Wentz looked good and did his job. I have confidence JJ can do the same if he has the starting O-line in front of him. The Bengals were wounded with a back up QB and a defense that isn't great. I expect Wentz to falter at some point and JJ will get healthy and return to the starting line up. If Wentz doesn't falter, let him play.

The real question is, will he even get the opportunity if Wentz continues to play well? Haven't really heard that talk much yet, but it's coming...

CD and Kelly back.  A running game and don't forget Addison.

I think one thing overlooked in JJ's first 2 games, he was throwing to guys he didn't practice with.  Jets sat all of preseason, AT came in late, Nailor was out for a while.  TJ was the only one he could have had a connection with and TJ was helping block most of the time.

Hearing rumblings JJ McCarthy may be back sooner than reported... that jives with the fact that he had already shed the walking boot on Sunday.

part of me says stay with Wentz until you cant, the other part of me says we have a window with the kid and are already 1 year behind the projected start date so wasting anymore time is absurd. Unless Wentz really cranks it up against the Steelers, I mean like 75%, 300+ and 3 or 4 TDs with only maybe 1 turnover ( pick or fumble) then I think you get the kid back in there as soon as he is ready.

Honestly though, looking at our schedule, if he isnt ready for Cleveland, I am really hoping Wentz catches fire and keeps the job for about a month or so. The next 6 games are no joke, considering the first 2 are in who know what field conditions, then home for Philly, and on the road to LA and Detroit, come back for the Ravens at home and then the rematch with the Bears ( thats where I would be most comfortable re-inserting JJM if Wentz is winning, but winning ugly) JJs issues werent just poor blocking IMO, he seemed to be questioning his reads and letting his footwork suffer at times, all part of the process, but this middle part of the schedule doesnt look very conducive to a rookie QBs development.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

If the team can sneak some wins with Wentz, beautiful....let JJ heal up completely. But if Carson shits the bed, I think they'll quickly move to McCarthy. KOC mentions his mobility is a nice part of his game he wants to utilize and I agree. But its best to be very close to 100% so the whole JJ playbook can be utilized.
