@ChadGraff

“I’m not sure New England believes that salary-cap management is a strategic area,” one exec said.

@SandoNFL dives deep at every team’s cap usage and spending.

This would be an interesting one for those that know how to get past the paywall.

On a computer you can Ctrl-A and then Ctrl-C to copy everything on the page, and paste it into a word document.  Doesn't work on every site.

It does seem to kind of show a correlation that spending more does lead to wins, and spending less leads to losing, and the middle seems to be dominated by teams that overpaid their mediocre QBs, but there's outliers all over.  I think the issue with the article is that in the modern NFL cap arena, for the most part, the teams that are spending the most over the cap are the teams that are trying to win now, and the teams that are more at the bottom are more rebuilding so they're saving money for when they're ready to go for it.  The bang-for-the-buck winners are all the teams you'd expect.  Teams with good coaches, good organizations, and good QBs outperform the other teams.
