The next 3 weeks will determine if the Vikings can hang....

Pretty tough odds: backup QB, a plethora of injuries, etc. I have zero idea what to expect from Carson Wentz and neither does anyone else, but we probably have to trend toward hot dogshit with all extenuating circumstances factored in. But that's why they play the games.

Listen, I'm here for whatever. I wish JJ could get these needed reps but he can't, so moving on. Want to see reality, look at some of Peyton Manning and other successful QBs first 6 games: horrid. We don't know shit yet about JJ. I'm just taking it one game at a time, maybe we can sneak out a win against Cincy. But I don't think Minnesota can start 1-4 and climb back into a wildcard race in the NFC. These next 3 games aren't ball breakers, so maybe there's a puncher's chance.

I typically have some level of hope when the backup needs to play that he can get us some wins, a guy like Mullens with a strong arm was capable of having a good day, even the Pastronaut had a few decent games, however with Wentz, I just don't see it, no mobility which is a must in today's NFL and especially behind our OL and I just don't see the passion or desire. He was the backup for Mahomes last year, when coaches like Reid don't bother to bring you back it speaks volumes. May have had something to do with Wentz starting last game of season, going 10-17 for 98 yards, 4 sacks in a 38-0 loss. Did we happen to watch the film of that game? With so many teams needing backups including us, he was sitting at home through the entire off season and training camp. Was there no interest or did he just not want to go through camp? I would feel more confident with Brosmer starting, which I think we may see.

A week ago I had a lot excitement for the season which I thought had promise and now I have no expectations that we will many games. I have really been looking forward to this season as I do every year, so I am just going to focus on enjoying watching each game without the expectation that we win and looking for any positives that there may be in each game.

I had no idea what we have at QB this year, so my expectations remain tepid with Wentz.

It'll be interesting to watch unfold, hopefully not a s hit show.

I agree, I bet we dont see JJM again till after their Euro tour - just in time for the Eagles game Smile

Welp, sounds like Rouse will be the starting LT on Sunday. If you ever wanted to equate a recipe for disaster its this...third string LT + big/immobile backup QB + Trey Hendrickson = shit sandwich. He's going to have 3+ sacks Sunday. Guaranteed

Guaranteed? Wow. Well if the Vikings put Rouse on an island 1v1 with Hendrickson, they deserve what they get and I'll take the over on 3 sacks. But I doubt they do that.

Probably safe to say TJH wont be padding stats this Sunday...

Makes sense but then again, Wentz has traditionally thrown to TEs a lot. This may wind up being a boon for TJH. Or is last gasp more appropriate?

What if Wentz gets injured or is really bad and they bring in Brosmer who lights it up for a few weeks? The Vikes continue with him and he continues to play very well (ala Brock Purdy). Are the UDFA contracts just one year contracts?

Brosmer signed a 3 year contract.

Recent experience suggests they'll do just that.  They left Skule in an island getting beat over and over while KOC refused to run slants, screens, quick outs, anything to counter it.  The qb whisperer doesn't seem capable of improving his game calls, he's had the same issues going on 4 years now.
