It really sounds like it's Thielen. I'm mixed about that. Good story, and it will be fun to have him on the team again, but man, dude's 35 years old. The good news I think is that if Thielen's the guy it probably means than they don't expect Nailor to be out long.
I think if it was Pierce, it's either Pierce or Addison next year. If Pierce ends up your #2 WR after getting a 3 game headstart, you extend him and trade Addison. You can't have 3 WRs on big contracts even with a QB playing on a rookie deal.
If it's Thielen, he can likely make that happen by walking into the GM's office and telling him it's his last year and if possible he'd like to finish it out at home trying for a Title and thank them for the opportunity. You can bet McCarthy and Jets have reached out to him already along with some others. My guess is it would cost a 6th round pick.
