If you're looking for real reporting free of opinion and spin you're in the wrong place. This. Its Colin's schtick. He calls KOC 'The tall Sean McVay'. He has been extremely complimentary to the Vikings as mentioned, but this is his 'hot take' about JJM which gets as much engagement or more than complimentary takes. He knows people LOVE it when he does "Where Colin Was Wrong"....all an act. They are all actors really: Stephen A Smith, Skip Bayless, etc. Highly paid shit stirrers. All contrived. As you mention, it would be horribly boring otherwise for the majority that listen to this stuff. The key is to have villains that occasionally get their 'comeuppance'. Its formulaic really. His co-host also came out as all in on the Vikings and JJ McCarthy so he needs to be the ying to that yang. There's the formula again at work.

Personally, I'm not looking for "real reporting free of opinion and spin" because I know I'd never find it. It doesn't exist. Everything in digital media is clickbait. EVERYTHING. But sports is entertainment. So is sports media. I want to hear what Cowherd and Russini think. I want to hear what Eisen thinks and Nystrom and Chase Daniels and Chris Simms. Hell, I even want to hear what Sticky thinks. I don't expect them all to agree. I don't even want them to. The difference of opinion is all part of the game. You even say it yourself: "I look forward to the stage of the season where he does his "Collin right, Collin wrong" segment and says he was wrong about McCarthy." Right? I do too. The game is more fun when you get to call the doubters onto the carpet....or take their money. ![]()

I think we all do realize that much of this national sports stuff is contrived, yet you're dealing with two brains for sports fans: logical and emotional. At least I'll speak for myself: my logical brain writes the post I did recognizing the manipulative game that the media plays. My emotional brain: 'Fuck you, Colin.....you'll be eating some microwaved crow soon'. Fans, man......

After week 4 his tune will change to; Well, look at the team around him, who can't be successful with that cast around them?
