Will Fries vs. Jonathan Allen/Training camp fight
#1
They did some one on one battling at camp yesterday and there's video out there and I'll try and find it. But Fries is an ass kicking machine. He completely stymied Allen in one-on-ones. There was also the first fight at camp and Fries was right in the middle of it, as was Tyler Batty, Asamoah, Fries and also JJ McCarthy lol. I guess somebody popped Aaron Jones hard to the ground and that started it. The guys are sick of hitting on each other, they'll be ready for preseason game 1.

More below:

Intensity turns up a notch
"This was the fourth practice in full pads and also, without question, the most physical and intense practice of training camp thus far. It got chippy in a way we hadn't seen up to this point. In an early 11-on-11 period, Harrison Phillips threw Walter Rouse to the ground. Jordan Mason, who continues to look really impressive in camp, trucked several defenders on a run up the middle, which led rookie Donovan Jackson to let out a primal scream afterwards.

Later in practice, it went up another level when linebacker Brian Asamoah II popped Aaron Jones after a play. Asamoah went to offer Jones a hand, but guard Will Fries took exception to the initial hit and shoved Asamoah pretty hard. In return, Asamoah threw a punch at Fries. On the very next play, rookie Tyler Batty got through the line of scrimmage untouched and leveled Jones in the backfield. That set things off again. McCarthy got in the mix with a bit of a shove on Batty, and players from both the offense and defense came together and jawed at each other."

No one skipped ota's

There were players loitering around before training camp started.

Everyone was at training camp day 1.

It's on paper until proven, the players know this roster doesn't have any holes in it.

Allen and Hargreave wreck the LOS, and get chippy because they can deal with it.

Vikings haven't had guys OR been like that since KOC was hired.

To your point and might I add: 'bout damn time.

• Defensive line, defensive line, defensive line. That was almost always the first thing that came up in my talks with Vikings people coming off the practice field. The additions of Jonathan Allen and Javon Hargrave changed the tenor of camp from the previous year. They are getting a push at the line of scrimmage. "Impacting our team in a real physical way," O'Connell said.
Age is at least a mild concern with the front -- Allen is 32, Hargrave 30 and Harrison Phillips 29. That's why the Vikings could be thoughtful with their rotation. Rookie fifth-round pick Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins has played well enough to potentially crack it. Overall, the defense is operating at full tilt in camp. "One of most talented, cohesive, high-level scheme defenses in my opinion in the NFL," O'Connell said. "I might be biased."
