Yep, Kelly was a very underrated signing. I really like the leadership qualities he brings probably even more than his physical play. He'll be great for JJ in his first year as a starter.

acknowledging we havent even played one live snap in 25 yet, but I am already remorseful Kelly hasn't been playing here the last 7+ seasons.

Bringing in a veteran former Pro-Bowl Center to work with this red-shirt rookie QB is a wise move. Remember, it was Kelly that recruited Fries to sign here as well.

Not at least how the story went down: the Vikings were targeting Kelly but didn't think they had a chance with Fries so he wasn't part of the FA plan. Then Kelly told KAM I think I can get Fries here, are you guys interested? And Minnesota said emphatically 'yes'.
