Raiders Release DT Christian Wilkens
#1
Can you say bad investment…?  Cool Angel  Apparently he’s dealing w/ a serious foot reinjury. The club wasn’t happy w/ how he rehabbed from his surgery last October & now believes he needs an additional surgery.

ESPN sources: Raiders are releasing defensive tackle Christian Wilkins with the designation of terminated vested veteran. His time in Las Vegas is now over.

Due to how Wilkins treated the rehab from his foot injury he suffered last season, the Raiders voided the remaining $35.2 million of guaranteed money left on Wilkins contract last month and today, Wilkins filed a grievance with the NFLPA.

It's gonna get weird if Wilkins decides his best path to 2026 Free Agency is thru a 1 year "prove-it" deal in Minnesota.

under his former HC/DC Bflo.

And then play next to Hargrave and Allen.

The Vikings can't pay Wilkins, I get it. The Raiders paid him , 49..7 million .

There is some video out there where he's either dancing or goofing around in the weight room that kind of was the final straw. The dude got his bag and got lazy rehabbing, a team's worst nightmare.....but someone else is going to give him another bag next year....or maybe this year depending where he's at on the injury front. For the Raiders to just cut him says they are pissed.

Vikings were seriously interested in Wilkins two years ago when it apparently came down to the Raiders and us, so I'm be curious to know if we might be interested given the right terms. Health and money would have to be sorted out. But fun to think about him on a 1-year, pissed off prove it deal alongside Allen and Hargrave.

He played in 5 games last season and may not play at all this season, so there’s probably nothing to see here!

I'd guess if there was a reasonable expectation that he was going to play most of the year, the Raiders would have kept him. I'd guess his foot is fucked at least for a while.
