How's everyone feeling with TC swiftly approaching?
#1
Personally, very excited and yet so much is riding on McCarthy. We've all discussed what appear to be improvements in areas of weakness this offseason and in the Draft. O'Connell was named Coach of the Year, extensions for both the HC and GM. Nobody is going to out-strategize KOC or BFlo. Ownership continues to be very solid and consistently so. We know how the players feel about the organization, culture, staff and the facilities, top notch. Brez continues to be incredible with navigating contracts and the cap. U.S. Bank is an amazing game-day atmosphere and the Skol Chant is the best thing going in the NFL IMO. It seems to be all aligning for something big.

If there ever was a time to rip off the scar tissue and expose that vulnerable purple heart to the harsh elements of real hope, its right now. We've never been able to have nice things....but that's only true until it isn't. I've been thru hell and back like any long time Minnesota Vikings fan, but change is in the air IMO. Buckle in for the good times.

I'm right there with you, Sticky. Excited by the team we've assembled, coaches we have in place, and the vibes we've had under KOC's leadership.

Super pumped to see JJ McCarthy lead this team. You and I were his fanboys leading up to the draft, confident he's going to fulfill everything we've said about him.

Yes sir, we got in early and never wavered. I've never planted a flag before on a player like I have with McCarthy....I've never watched a player as closely in college as I have with JJM. I don't begrudge anyone here for not believing, thinking I'm a Michigan homer, being skeptical with folded arms, etc. Truly I don't. We all handle the inevitable disappointment of life as a Viking's fan differently. But its a new day and it starts this September.

I'm feeling a little bit like Charlie Brown, trying to convince myself that Lucy won't trick me again.

I'm beyond impatient, with anticipation combining with concern and bullish confidence in the team's steady improvements. JJM is, and will be, the biggest variable for most or all of the season, but away from him...it's been like getting birthday/Xmas presents but not being able to play with them, yet.

The IOL/IDL upgrades are absolutely huge to me, as our years of weakness in those areas might finally be over. This team can and should be the basis for the good things we keep wishing for...!
Wishing a great season for the team, Especially Mundt and Kwenkeu! Big Grin

Excited and Impatient. I think we’ve all got inklings of greatness in JJM, but I’m ready to see it on the field. I’m also trying to be patient and not have this summer go any faster than it already is.

I went through the home schedule with a buddy to pick out a game for a road trip and it really hit me how difficult it looks. Also, more "winnable" games early, when I expect we will see the most growing pains with essentially a rookie QB. The pessimist in me worries about a slow start, pressure building, loss of confidence and a downward spiral. A more measured view is that schedule strength can be deceiving this time of year -- teams predicted to be great won't be; there will be injuries; and a few "bad" teams will catch everyone by surprise. Really this year is about McCarthy and building momentum. I almost want to say that if JJ exits the year looking like a better than average NFL starter and on the ascend, I can live with missing the playoffs and a mediocre record. Certainly will be an interesting year.

Cautiously optimistic and anxious to get it rolling.

If the Vikings don't have a roster capable of competing for a Lombardi, then no one does. To state the obvious and often repeated: it's all about McCarthy. And I just find it hard to stifle the exciting notion that if he plays well, not historically well, but just "well" then this team has a chance to be not just good, but damn good.

I’m feeling good. Better than I was last year at this time. The Cousins saga— the games the money the wins the duds the banter the circus—was all kind of exhausting to me as a fan. Then last year at this time we had Darnold so I was excited but not super optimistic. The season wound up being super fun.

This year, I’m not sold on GB’s roster and the Bears are a question mark. Detroit will likely be good but from where I’m sitting, unless we drafted Ponder or TJack again, I think the Vikings have a chance to be very good. Lower floor maybe, but higher upside than we’ve had in years. That level of variance is alluring to me. I think we’re in store for some fun guys.
