And with the savings of the post June 1st cut of Bradbury, Vikings now have over $23M in cap space for this year, which can be used this year or rolled over into next year (when the Vikings will need it).

however they are basically swapping cap space next year for cap space several years down the road since they used void years on this deal. eventually the rooster will come home to roost.

The Eagles, for example, have 8 times the amount of money tied up in void years as do the Vikings (they lead the league by a huge margin). And it would be hard to argue they’re doing something wrong. Void years can be eliminated too. If we extend Oliver again in a couple of years, we can kill the void years and convert them to real years as he gets closer to aging out.
Also, I’m not convinced the Vikings plan to roll this money into 2026. They may be stacking space for a big move this summer or at the trade deadline.
stands to reason that if they really think they have something in JJM that they would be trying to load for bear, however not rolling over much of that money until next year may end up making it more of a peep-hole, than a window.
60 million in the red for next year as we currently stand, that 25 would go a long way towards getting to break even without having to do much more can kicking. I want to see this window extended as long as we can as I suspect we will have somethings come up ( injuries, suspensions, surprise retirements etc) that derail promising seasons along the way.
