The last post in the JJM preseason lovefest
#1
The last in this installment series, lol. Wink I've bored you all with my JJM love, but the last thing to discuss is his passing mentality. Its gunslinger mode. He's got a big arm and he'll use it. His success over the middle of the field attests to it and its where every successful NFL QB eventually wins big games against big opponents. He's not afraid to pull the trigger in big situations. There'll be no shrink. The best part for KOC is there'll be no limitations. Its the best combo of physical traits and leadership swag. Addison lit up saying the only thing he didn't know then compared to now is McCarthy's 'swag'. It's all there in its beginning form. But it starts with the mentality that makes the difference in big moments: can you win games late in crucial drives and situations? IMO its an emphatic yes.

He's still got things to learn but he's the fastest learner I've seen.

The good thing is that with the best surround a young QB has probably ever seen in the history of young QBs, if McCarthy fails, at least we won't have to play that endless "what if" game before we move on. What if we gave him some weapons? What if we actually give him some protection? What if we bring in a new OC? Will that help him?

No, we'll likely know what we have in McCarthy in about 4 months.

Thats seems like a quick trigger....

I say 2 full seasons of him grabbing Kelly's asz.

We won't pull any triggers in 4 months, but I think KOC will have a pretty good idea by then if his young QB is either Mitch Trubisky or Joe Burrow or something in between. Based on what we've seen and heard, I think it's much more likely he falls closer to the latter.

I don't mind a poster actually quadrupling down on support for our new QB, it sure beats literal years of peeps needling one stat or complaint just to hate out on "their" quarterback.

Positivity, folks...drink some Kool Aid, it's about to be Summer. Purple tinted glasses and anticipation are allowed and encouraged...!
Wishing a great season for the team, Especially Mundt and Kwenkeu! Big Grin

I actually am so anxious to see him in action again, I still remember listening to NFLN the day of the draft last year and the story about him telling KOC that he would walk through walls for him almost gave me a chill, because I think he meant it.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

While what I have seen so far from JJM is certainly encouraging, more then anything in KOC I trust. I think at this point if KOC told me that Zach Wilson was going to be the man, I would buy it. What he has done so far with Kirk, Dobbs, Sam, hell even Mullens threw for 400 yards (and 5 int's), but still. JJM is KOC's pick, which gives me even more encouragement that it will be successful. At this point, I feel as though only injury or something truly dumb can derail this. I think JJM is here because KOC picked him and he is his kind of guy. And that is who I trust!
