Rumor Mill Brings Fourth Secondary Help

There is a good possibility that Miami doesn't find a trading partner and just outright releases him, but I believe they're still on the hook for his salary this year so he wouldn't be as expensive as Alexander might be. He hasn't missed many games in the last 5 years compared to Alexander, and factor that he played in LA while KOC was there so there is some familiarity.

Honestly, I'd pass on both as well but the DB depth (especially CB) does have me a bit worried.

I'm just as worried about safety and running back. The roster is stacked everywhere else, but those three units do seem to lack quality depth. If we're in little nickel, we're one sprained ankle away from seeing McGlothern or Okudah. If we're in big nickel, we're one concussion protocol away from seeing Bubba Bolden or Jay Ward. And we're one tight hammy to an injury prone 30-year-old running back from seeing Ty Chandler and his bullfighter style pass blocking technique attempting to protect our franchise QB.

Why would you invest ten bucks in someone who is only there half the time?

Agreed. Those might be spots where they look at players come cutdown day. Or inevitably trade a 2035 7th round pick to whatever team signs Cam Akers.

Hence why he's available. Its a risk for any team that signs him. My guess is that several teams will be very interested as he can fit the CB2 role extremely well for some contenders. But for how much and how many games will he play?

On these type of players, I try to remember the Percy Harvin trade. Was that a bad trade for Seattle, giving up a first for a guy who wound up being hurt most of the time for them? Absolutely. But he caught like 10 balls in the Super Bowl and they probably don't win it without him. Alexander is the calibre of player that makes you consider moves like these. I still think he winds up elsewhere but I doubt anyone will be mad if he signs here. Because you never know. Maybe he plays a full season in a contract year.

I'm told 6 teams made immediate inquiries about CB Jaire Alexander's upon his release from the #Packers Monday, per league source.

I think the Vikings only give Wolfson info when it’s “useful” to the Vikings…  Cool Angel

Very underrated signing. Might get some reps as PR too.
