In league OTA news....

If the Vikings went RB, RJ Harvey was my choice. Unfortunately, you can't draft them all. Damn but those thighs boy!

NFL Rookie Watch is a crap account (through it to?) but "wows and woes" is a good way to describe who Milroe is IMO. One of the best arms you'll ever see. Can run like the wind. In limited appearances you'll think he's Lamar Jackson. And then, from out of nowhere, come these ridiculously easy throws that he just bounces off the ankles of his receivers in the flat. His performance at the Senior Bowl showed all of this.

Jalen Milroe reportedly “struggled” in his 1st on-field impression as the Seahawks QB3 at OTA’s today.

Milroe was reportedly “missing behind” receivers left and right during the 11-on-11 portion of practice.

During the Red-Zone portion of practice,  Milroe sailed a pass “3+ yards” over the head of a wide open WR in the back of the end zone.

The very next play, Milroe through it to a blanketed Elijah Arroyo (Seahawks TE), which resulted in a PBU.

It is reportedly “clear” that Milroe’s throwing fundamentals still have a long way to go until he can become a high-impact QB1 in the league.

However, Milroe has reportedly been “working relentlessly” to master the Seahawks playbook and is taking steps day by day.

The wows and the woes are CERTAINLY present early on with the Seahawks rookie QB ?

Milroe was up/down in SEC play, let alone making the jump to the NFL...

92nd pick overall, 3rd round. I dont know if he'll make their QB2 this year, but they did invest some decent draft capital in him too.

That kid needs a minimum of a year watching Uncle Sammy be a pro.

Low floor/high ceiling or low floor/low ceiling??? If I'm a seahawk fan, I wouldn't know for sure.

Milroe is the exact type of QB you take a chance on. Incredible physical talent, if the light comes on and he figures out how to be more consistent as a passer you have a starting NFL QB with immense upside. If he doesn't, who cares if you used a late 3rd round pick.

Agree. He's got a long way to go, but I have no problem with taking a 3rd round shot on the physical ability.

Have any QBs like Milroe every panned out? Beyond rare. Yet a guy like Brock Purdy takes you an overtime away from a Superbowl win. I guess his comp would be like Justin Fields except he went at pick 11 in round 1....and Milroe doesn't pass anywhere near what Fields has, which is a low bar. Milroe is super raw as a passer, I think some of you are underestimating this.

Set the bar lower.

Jalen Hurts was super raw as a passer and was better known for his rushing ability at Alabama.  Got benched for Tua, kept his mouth shut and was a good teammate, and then went to Oklahoma and showed some progression as a passer. Needed a year in the NFL to develop and has become a functional passer in the NFL.  I think that's the path you hope Milroe follows.  If he doesn't, he can still be a viable backup ala Justin Fields, Malik Willis, etc.

Anything is possible, MG, but the odds are long. But I do agree the comp for Milroe isn't Lamar Jackson, it would be a Jalen Hurts type....and even so, Hurts was still a 2nd round selection. His ceiling to me is QB2. JMO.
