So there was and is obviously a reason that a physically talented QB like Levis was drafted at the beginning of round 2....and you see that now. We've all read about his quirky personality as well. He's the textbook definition of how having great arm talent means little to nothing in the NFL if that's all you bring to the table.

Nature vs nurture.

We just watched Sam Darnold flourish under KO. Who’s to say the same type transformation wouldn’t happen here. Levis looked like a slightly smaller Josh Allen under Coen at Kentucky his junior year. I wouldn’t dismiss him with the right coach.

Its always possible, I suppose, but I think what KOC pulled off with Darnold was very specific and extremely rare. We joke about KOC University but I don't think he can take just anyone and get the same Darnold-type results with a reject. I think that the candidate for a 2.0 with KOC would need very specific traits both mentally and physically. KOC mentioned several times that he had liked Darnold for years. I just wonder if Levis is too quirky mentally for a 2.0 upgrade with KOC....might not be the fit. I personally don't take a ton of credence from what a dude did in college, because systems create flashy stats or faux success sometimes. But there definitely are a few things you can glean from college for sure.

Levis's physical abilities is going to give him an opportunity for a 2.0 possible upgrade with some team, I have no doubt about that. JMO but I don't see it with him.

With KOC is it rare? Look at Dobbs. 0-10 as a starter and he goes 2-2 with us. How about Cousins? W/L record before and after KOC. The NFL has done a piss poor job maximizing QBs. KOC and guys like Coen might be the key. If we see Trevor Lawrence put up numbers commensurate with his talent we might be on to something.

KOC has done some really good things, but when you look at Dobbs, that was short term. The more he played, the more he resembled the hot pile of ass that he was. He did wonders with Darnold, but he still saw some ghosts in big spots. KOC is tremendous, but its not like Cousins didn't play well before KOC. My point is that Levis MIGHT not be the ideal type for KOC to have a reclamation project with.

To your point: you could be spot on, Coen might bring up Levis a level. He knows him. Hell, Levis could be just the type KOC wants, I dont know. I'm just giving my opinion about him like you are.

They passed on drafting Levis which no doubt was a KOC call. So I don't think he'd be a candidate for the KOC QB retraining deal.
