"Hours away from the owners’ vote surrounding the future of the tush push, I’m told both the league’s competition and players’ health and safety committees have voted to ban the play.
Despite the Eagles’ best efforts, the tush push is likely on its way out, sources say."

I honestly don't care, but I do like hearing Eagles fans bitch and moan.

I dont support banning this...
Its a frigging football play and how is it inherently more dangerous than any other football plays?

The NFL's owners have passed a rule change that would allow teams to declare onside kicks at any point during a game if they are trailing.

They will be kicked from the 34 instead of the 35, per source.

I don’t really understand either of those as being real issues. Like, who cares if teams play “weirdly”, doing plays that other teams don’t use frequently. Why try to regulate style choices? Why not onside kick, whenever you want? Why not tush push whenever you want? Obviously, if there’s some hidden, mystery data that actually suggests increased danger to players, sure ban it, but it doesn’t sound like either of these is more dangerous.

Actually, it was not a football play until 2005. Before 2005 it was always illegal to help a runner advance.
