NFL.com: Biggest wildcard in 2025 is JJ McCarthy
#1
https://www.nfl.com/news/is-j-j-mccarthy...le-release

"Standing 6-foot-3 and 219 pounds with plus arm talent and athleticism, McCarthy expands the playbook with his skills as a mobile playmaker. He can operate within the pocket or on the move, allowing the Vikings to mix traditional dropbacks with bootlegs and movement-based passes to keep defenders guessing on the launch point. In addition, McCarthy's ability as a runner could enable Minnesota to dial up read-option plays in goal-line and short-yardage situations."

Sums it up at this point: he's got the talent and mindset, just needs to do it. The Summer of JJ starts as all eyes will be on him.

Its a tough call for me to make on how the Vikings will do this year, really tough. And the same holds true for JJM.

They have the 5th most difficult schedule + rook QB + great surround, great culture and great coaching.

Gotta just watch it all play out now...

Agreed. I really can't say anything for sure. JJM is a wildcard, he hasn't played one regular season game yet. Damn it is going to SUCK if McCarthy blows, lol.

Yes it sure would lol!

I dont think he'll suck tbh and I know you dont think he will either.

The question for me is how high is the ceiling? I hope it's more than a Bridgewater type.

Right now you'd have to put J.Daniels at the head of that QB class.

It'll be fascinating to watch this play itself out the next 3 or so seasons.

Yep, Daniels for sure. And honestly as it stands right, you'd have to put Nix behind him. Then Williams and then Maye. Been reading some low level stuff that Maye has been a little quiet, not really showing leadership but is trying to flex those traits now this offseason.
