Ryan joins McCain in Opposing Trump on Arpaio Pardon...

Speaker of the House Paul Ryan opposes President Trump's pardoning of former Sheriff Joe Arpaio, an aide said Saturday, joining Arizona GOP Sen. John McCain in criticizing the decision.
"The speaker does not agree with this decision,” said Doug Andres, a spokesman for Ryan. “Law enforcement officials have a special responsibility to respect the rights of everyone in the United States. We should not allow anyone to believe that responsibility is diminished by this pardon."
Trump on Friday spared Arpaio, from the Phoenix area, the prospect of serving jail time in granting the first presidential pardon of his turbulent tenure, wiping away the lawman's recent federal conviction stemming from his immigration patrols that focused on Latinos.

Why should Arpaio 'show remorse' for upholding federal immigration law?  

Remember... this case originates from Arpaio's decision to enforce federal immigration law. (Please ask for relevant history, glad to oblige)
Silly Joe... the Obama US Govt was no more inclined to enforce Obama immigration malfeasance, than the US Trump Govt is inclined to enforce Trump's IRS penalty on Obamacare. 

WHO BROUGHT THIS CASE?  The Obama DOJ.  Purview:  executive branch/Obama. 
WHO DISMISSED IT?  The Trump DOJ.  Purview:  executive branch/Trump. f

Some of you supposed conservatives need to learn a modicum (at least) of what that means in practice.

Just a stupid thing to get upset about.  Pardons do not undermine the rule of law since it is the rule of law that allows the President to issue a pardon.

Agreed.  presidential pardons will always bring skepticism.  And rightfully so IMO.  I would like to think Trump got this one right as Savannah pointed out.  Funny how the media never uttered a word about Obama's pardons.
