OT: Most Famous Person From Your Town
#1
Plus who is the most famous person you met
It’s been asked before who is the most famous person from your town?   Mine is Michael Jordan, Meadowlark Lemon, Sugar Ray Leonard, Roman Gabriel, Sonny Jurgenson, Althea Gibson

Most famous person I met.  All 3 astronauts Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, Buzz Aldrin.  My dad was NCOIC at embassy in Thailand and in charge of security when they were on their world tour.  Think pops had a few beverages with Buzz Aldrin     Pete Best and Richie Havens
I went to HS and college with Michael and played basketball with him.   To clarify he played and I sat ?  Albeit I was in the starting 5 in HS with him.

Most Famous: Hillary Rodham. My brother dated her in H.S. He went to both inaugurations and they are still close. When my other brother lost his job with the IRS a year short of his full government pension she got him a job with FEMA.

Most Famous I’ve Met: Larry Hisle, Cecil Cooper, and Ben Oglive. I played racquetball ball with all three of them when I worked at the Mequon YMCA. I was studying architecture in HS and when Hisle learned this he shared the plans for the home he was building.

Didn’t actually meet Johnny Cash. Had a layover in Nashville. 20 minutes before we are to board I go take a piss. I’m standing there and out of the corner of my eye I catch glimpse of a man all in black about 6-4. I chuckle to myself thinking “who does this clown think he is”. Subtle glance over as to not break man code. My eyes must have gotten big as saucers.

Then, Johnny Cash gives me a nod.

Riverside, CA. - Barry Bonds, Reggie Miller, Dusty Baker

Once at Anaheim Stadium Christopher Walken backed out of a private box and bumped into my buddy, who said "Hey, Watch it A-Hole"
We laughed and said, "Hey Dave, You just called Christopher Walken an A-Hole"

Not sure this one counts, but I’m Eskimo brothers with Glen “Doc” Rivers.

Went to HS with Kato Kailen. He was a year ahead of me.

Not sure if this is my hometown or the town I currently live in. But...

Hometown: Billings, MT: Not a lot of people from there. Probably Dave McNally, Hall of Fame pitcher
Current town: Denver, CO: Probably either Tim Allen or Don Cheadle
Most famous person met: Probably David Stern, whom I met and spoke with at a wedding. He was the commissioner of the NBA at the time. Met John Hickenlooper at the same wedding. Also met beat poet Allen Ginsberg.

Also can't forget that my niece's best friend's babysitter knows the members of Wilson Phillips. Top that.

I did my undergraduate at Marquette and was on the same dorm floor as Doc and became friends.

Well, he's not from here but John Travolta has a house 5 miles from me at Jumbolair. I do see him flying over my house occasionally.
