Root for Daniel Jones and Trent Sherfield
#1
Per Over The Cap, the
@Vikings currently have a 3rd (Sam Darnold) and 5th round (Cam Robinson) comp picks. The Vikings could get that 5th round comp pick moved up to a 4th if Daniel Jones hits playing time incentives. Also, Kevin O'Connell recently mentioned the possibility for a 3rd comp pick (Trent Sherfield Jr.?).

I think Jones will hit those incentives. Why I feel he chose Ind over the Vikings. I have a hard time believing that anyone trusts AR at this point.

The game within the game. Don't really care much for charades. FA starts mid march yet deals are signed 5 seconds after it starts. Wait until after the draft (May 1?) and you can sign a FA without giving up a comp pick. Salary cap seems to be the same way.

This appears to be the list of the Vikings’ picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.

    First-round selection
    Second-round selection
    Third-round selection
Third-round selection (projected Compensatory pick, courtesy of Over the Cap)
Fourth-round selection (Going to Jacksonville for Cam Robinson)
    Fifth-round selection
    Fifth-round selection (projected Compensatory pick)
Sixth-round selection (Acquired from Houston in Ed Ingram trade, could be going to San Francisco for Jordan Mason)
Sixth-round selection (Could be going to San Francisco for Jordan Mason)
Seventh-round selection (Which may go to Texans for Cam Akers, conditions for trade are unknown)

(Transactions all courtesy of Pro Sports Transactions.)

Since one of those sixth-round picks is going to the 49ers, the Vikings currently have eight picks for the 2026 NFL Draft. They currently have at least one selection in each round and a pair of picks in the third.

Excellent...

This should reduce the chances of another 28 page thread on 3rd string WR.

LOL...are you suggesting that when there is no news, we manage to fabricate it out of the closest possible thing that marginally resembles something to care about?

It'll be fun to have 4 selections in the top 100 next year.

Exactly.

And hey, I know it hasn't been talked about much here recently on the board, but possibly snag a RB? Wink

It would seem odd that Sheffield could be worth a 3rd, I wouldn't think he would bring anything. I am not a fan of the comp picks, think they have really hurt the draft. If a team decides to keep their players or sign others, it is all part of managing the cap. I especially do not think they should be given in the 3rd and 4th rounds, much too high.
