Those were two different moves made for two different reasons for two different players. We won't know if those moves were foolish or genius until we see what kind of player Turner becomes.

I just echoed that sentiment elsewhere, identical meaning with different wording: assumptions or questions about "regret" are at least a year from being answered, as very few players really peak in their rookie seasons. Articles like that are why the "draft season" is my least favorite part of the offseason...well, that and 68,212,536.3 mock drafts clogging all the football boards.

However, I feel Turner is going to be very good and play a lot more in his second season. He was pretty impressive toward the end of the season.

The only thing you could criticize Kwesi on is the initial trade for an extra first. I assumed he did it because they had a trade lined up with New England to get to #3. Trading two seconds and some change to get another first to have "optionality" is questionable GM-ing IMO. To me, you only do that if you have a trade up secured assuming you can get that second first round pick. It worked out on draft day because we only needed to trade up one spot for my favorite QB prospect and we were in position to make another minor trade up to secure Dallas Turner who unexpectedly dropped... but if that hadn't happened, we might be looking at securing that extra first a bit differently.

You don't like Football Christmas? I think it's the most wonderful time of year. The hap-happiest season of all. But don't fret, just one more week and we can all....look forward the first 2026 mock drafts to drop. (04-19-2025, 09:10 AM)MAD GAINZ Wrote: Agreed. At the end of the day I think we decided that the difference between Maye and the next two (McCarthy and Penix) wasn't big enough to justify the other 1st (and likely next year's too) to move up for him. But I'm happy we were bold in putting ourselves in that position...and relieved the Jets felt good about their 40 year old QB.

I don't see it as "Football Christmas", because you don't know if the "toys" are much good for almost 5 months. Also, given that 99% or more of the mock drafts are hugely wrong...eh...it's a period I refer to us "draftnik man-sturbation"; a time when certain types of football fans have already spent months watching sweaty college bois running around in shorts....!
