"When the Browns eventually move on, the QB's off-field issues, which included more than 20 women alleging sexual misconduct during massage therapy sessions, could make him unemployable for some owners.
The on-field problems compound the issue. In three seasons in Cleveland, he played in 19 games due to suspension and injury. He was scattershot, missed reads, wasn't elusive or calm in the pocket, and showed no signs of the dynamic ability he displayed in Houston.
Assuming he isn't able to suit up in 2025, since 2020, he'll have missed 66 of a potential 85 games over five seasons. Can anyone overcome so much missed work, particularly at the most difficult position in sports? There is a reason Watson has -- as he said -- so many doubters."

I know it's hard being a Vikings fan, but I couldn't even imagine being a Browns fan. This right here, is a prime example as to why you pay Purdy.

Why is this the reason you pay Purdy? Because it prevents you from trading way too many picks to spend way too much money on a guy who serially sexually assaults women? Like if I spend all my money on my wifes shoes, I won’t have any money for strippers?

The amazing thing about that trade is as bad is it was it is still not the worst trade in NFL history, something we will always have claim to. It is mind blowing when you see some of these bad trades in any sport and you think about the negative impact to the franchise and then you revisit the Walker trade and none of those other trades are close. Think about the implications after that trade for both teams, the Cowboys built a dynasty with all those picks winning it all 3 of 4 years, while we didn't win a playoff game for 8 years.

I think I’d take the Walker trade over the Watson trade. We along with the Bills are still “the best team to never have won a SB”. The Browns went from being lovable losers, who people were rooting for, to that shitshow that hired a predator and everyone is rooting for them to suck.
I think if a GM is ever tempted to trade three 1st round picks for someone they probably shouldn’t. If a team is willing to trade you their starting QB and they don’t have the replacement in house, they probably know something you don’t.

Draft capital aside, that fully guaranteed contract impacted every owner and GM. A painful stupid precedent. Changed the landscape.

I try and sympathize with the Cleveland fans, because many of them were against hiring the perv in the first place. That said, it's always nice to watch a fanbase that suffers more than we do. Hell, with Detroit's history, they may fall into another 3 decades of irrelevance after this recent peak. I won't deny that I'd enjoy that.
BUT...more than their misery, I'll be over here chugging purple Kool-Aid, and hoping that JJM's year on the bench ends up being a huge blessing...!
Wishing a great season for the team, Especially Mundt and Kwenkeu!

Detroit is still irrelevant. 3 playoff wins since 1957. They could sweep us for the next 15 years and still not reach .500 all time.
