Is Jaxson Dart really a round 1 QB in the Draft?

He's a divisive kind of candidate. Has his detractors and supporters. Mel Kiper is deeply in love with him, but I've moved on from being a Mel fan. I personally don't think he is, but it just takes one team. I think he'll be overdrafted.

He's been brought up as a sleeper QB the last couple years, but I think he's just a good college QB.

I could be wrong, but I don't think he's a legit NFL prospect. We've seen other good college QBs that just seem to be missing something get pumped up draft boards like Jake Locker, Blaine Gabbert, Will Levis, Geno Smith, EJ Manuel, etc.

If I was outside of the top 10 and couldn't get Shedeur or Ward, I would rather take a chance on Jalen Milroe on Day 2 if I wanted a QB to develop.

Short answer, no.

Longer answer, he'll probably go in the first but definitely doesn't deserve to. I'd draft Ward the end of Day 1 in a trade back situation if I was the Browns or Giants. But even that is too high for QB1. To make matters worse, 2026 doesn't look much better. Drew Allar is probably QB2 or 3 and this guy is Christian Hackenberg 2.0. I'm just glad we've got our guy now.

Take this all with a bag of salt because I've watched zero QBs this year.

100%, Roll Tide

I would not mind Milroe coming here as a development guy. He's a big, fast strapping kid with a cannon.

Ive seen him make some really nice throws and Ive seen good DC's shut him down too.

He's raw as a passer and (like JJM) is only 22 years old. That QB room would be the place to party for sure. Until daddy Flacco comes to work..

I ask this question because outside of last year's Draft, there's at least one or maybe even two QBs that the draft 'experts' absolutely love every year that end up being taken in round 2 or 3. Some even later.

Just hope he goes 1-23.

No, I don't believe so. I could see NO being a trade down partner for us. Get something like their 40,71, and 131. I think that would be a great package for us. They trade up to get Dart and we do something like, Thomas/Amos at 40. Deone Walker at 71. Then get Grant/Rivers for your LG at 97

I actually hope he is on the board at #24 and 3 teams all want to trade up to get him...

I agree he is not a typical 1st round QB talent, but this year he could go in the 1st.

All the recent mocks from guys who are keyed in to what's going on have Dart being drafted before the Vikings pick at #24. I think that's great for us as it drops down another player that we'd actually draft.
