Vikings Nearly $33 Million Under Cap
#21

This assumes there’s a player with a big contract or deserves a big contract sitting on a team with corresponding cap room to take the hit or the appetite to move a player deserving a big contract.

CB market just exploded.

Sauce?

Maybe Trey Hendrickson. I know, probably not, but maybe.

Eagles big agent splash last year was edge rusher Bryce Huff, 3 years $51M, even though the Eagles were already strong at defensive line. The Eagles kept adding to their defense. Bryce Huff was a bust, at least for last season, as he was a healthy scratch from their Super Bowl roster.

We saw what the Eagles defense did against the Chiefs even without their big free agent signing. You never have too many pass rushers.

We lost about 900 Edge snaps between Jones and Ward. He’s about the same size as Jones about 20 lighter than Ward. I’m not sure he’s a fit with what BFlo wants.

If they were going to make a "big splash" yet, my $$ would be on a D player.

I'm still not happy they didnt land Reed, I'd sure be happy with some Sauce though.

Ok, ok -- just dreaming...

Oh, he’s an absolute stud. I’m just not sure he fits in the scheme.

In Week 9 of the 2024 season, against the Las Vegas Raiders, Hendrickson had four sacks in the 41–24 victory, earning AFC Defensive Player of the Week. In Week 18, he recorded 3.5 sacks in a 19–17 win over the Steelers, earning his second Defensive Player of the Week award of the season.[45] He led the league with 17.5 sacks, along with 46 tackles, six passes defensed, and two forced fumbles, and was named first-team All-Pro for 2024.

As good as our defense is, he's better than anything we've got. When we're left with one-on-one, we win infrequently. Our defense depends on misdirection, confusion and free blitzers. Hendrickson runs over people. I think he's exactly what our defense needs. Again though, it's a long shot we go after him.
