Authorities have arrested a suspect who is alleged to have stolen luxury cars that belong to University of Miami athletes Carson Beck and Hanna Cavinder.

Per Courtney Martinez of WSB-TV in Atlanta, investigators arrested Tykwon Deandre Anderson after Beck and Cavinder reported three vehicles were stolen while they were sleeping.

The vehicles included a Mercedes-Benz AMG, a Lamborghini and a 2025 Land Rover.

Martinez noted two of the Benz and Land Rover have been recovered, but the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office is still searching for the Lamborghini and three other suspects.

According to the police report, two of the suspects are alleged to have jumped over a fence onto the property and broke into the Land Rover owned by Cavinder to steal the garage door opener. That allowed them to get inside the home to steal the key fobs for the Benz and Lamborghini.

Deputies said that Anderson confessed to the crimes and explained how the group stole cars in their report about the incident.

Cavinder is in her second season as a basketball player for Miami's basketball team. She sat out the 2023-24 season to pursue business opportunities. The fifth-year senior returned to school for the 2024-25 campaign. She's averaging 6.7 points per game in 26 starts for the Hurricanes.

Beck transferred to Miami in January after playing quarterback for the previous four seasons at the University of Georgia. He went 24-3 in two seasons as the Bulldogs starter.

Gotta be NIL...But maybe thats just the way it is down there too with boosters etc...

I dont know, maybe its like that at all big schools these days? Those with big programs?

Great era to be a good athlete in college...Not sure its great for us fans?

Portal and NIL leave me a bit cold.

I think NIL legalized and amplified what was already happening. Universities are hiring GMs now. Portal is probably an over correction.

Oh you sweet summer child....so naive. Wink

Many football players are getting shitloads of NIL money. Some millions. Why Beck would decide to waste it on luxury cars is his decision, but yeah. The #1 rated QB coming out of high school, Bryce Underwood, signed with Michigan and its rumored he received $12 million. The guy from BarStools Sports, Dave Portnoy, chipped in a bunch of that. The game is just above board now and they have these alumni 'collectives' to spread the NIL money around, like PAC groups do.
