Brock Purdy Contract
#1
Love got $55m/year, $160mm guarantee
Lawrence at $55m/year, $200mm guarantee
Dak $60m/year, $231mm guarantee

49'ers are going to have to pay dearly for Brock...

Kinda ratches-up the urgency to get JJM out there on that rook $$

and what do all those teams have in common?  the niners have to be honest in what they have in Purdy and not fall victim to the have to over pay for mediocrity mentality.  they would be better off bringing Darnold back at 35 million year than Purdy at anything close to those numbers.  hes good, but he isnt rare or special and he wont carry a team once all the real talent is gone.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

I agree about Purdy, but any team without complementary talent isn't going far. We've seen that QBs can't carry a bad o-line unless the defense is picking up the slack, and so forth. Even the Bengals' appearance in the Superb Owl was an aberration; Burrows had a s**t line, but was on a young team playing over their heads from top to bottom.
Wait, we failed to protect our QB in big games, again?

MAYBE THERE'S A LESSON HERE.
