DQ COTY
#1
Win or lose next week at Philly, what they have done this year is amazing. Especially with a rook qb.

Caleb will probably be just fine, but I am sure glad we dont play JD twice a year from now on lol!

So my little birdie told me awhile ago that the QB Minnesota was truly interested in wasn't Maye, it was Daniels. They would have traded the farm for him. But wisely Washington was like no f-ing way. We aren't moving off this spot for anything.

JJM was 2nd to him for them. But they've been so incredibly impressed with McCarthy since OTAs that they feel really good about their window with him. FYI.

I heard that as well that it was Daniels and JJ was two. I have been told that multiple times and I mirror your post on my thoughts.

Well according to one poster on this site JJM sucks and Darnold is the future.

What type of birdie is this?   I got a bird in the other room and all it says is "Gimme a cracker, squawk.  JJ McCarthy, JJ Mcarthy, squawk!  Gimme a cracker!"

I never bought the Maye hype, he was at the bottom of my first round QBs with Williams.

Quinn has done a great job, but everyone qualifies it by saying "with a rookie QB." OK, but it's not like Daniels was taken in the 2nd round. He was the Heisman Trophy winner and 2nd overall pick. He's had a phenomenal year and Washington is still playing because of him.

But is that more impressive for Quinn as a 14-win team with a legit reclamation project at QB in Darnold? I don't think anyone would argue with the idea that Darnold's season is due mostly to Kevin O'Connell. Is that as true for Daniels and Quinn?

This is why I feel KOC will win it. He should, Darnold was an afterthought. He was a high draft pick and a complete bust. It has gotten out that KOC was telling him his reads and what and where he should go in the headset all year. That would explain why KOC didn't let him change the play at the line. Darnold was who he was because of KOC. Then when the games got tough and everything was on the line, KOC had to let Darnold be who he is.

I dont know that I buy the story of Sam not being able to read a D, I am sure KOC was coaching him up all season, but hell he was doing the same with Cousins his first year as well.  I dont think many QBs get to the pros without being able to read a Defense to some extent.  not to mention that most pro offenses and defenses switch off of what the other shows,  so it would be all but impossible to send that much information into Sam,  for him to be able to receive and  process all the checks that go with all of his targets, and still get the play called right.

He was telling him the reads on offense. Where he should go first and what his 2nd and 3rd reads were if things weren't there. Not that he couldn't read a defense.
