He can do it all. Has the brains as well. Winner. What I like, hes always asking questions on how to get better. What can he do in certain situations. Always trying to learn and ask questions KOC says. He has it.

This is THE dude. He's still 21 years old. A huge 'It' factor. Big arm, decent size and mobility big time. I bet he comes to camp in August at about 223 lbs. He'll be jacked and ready for the Alpha role. Already a locker room favorite. This is Josh Allen lite. He'll have that same kind of genuineness gravity. He's a Midwest pleaser, that's a great place to start. He's a real dog, super low key ultra competitive.
Dan Feeney , the backup OG in Minnesota said, 'He's young, but has this way about him. Very natural dude and leader. I just think he's got something a lot of other young QBs don't have'.

I just hope KOC/KAM prioritize getting him better protection. More then what we've seen with this franchise for too long.
They have to if they want to beat Detroit, Eagles and elite teams. These are the standard setters.

JJ McCarthy (or the "Curse Breaker" as I will refer to him) bought Joe Mauer's old house. Could you as for better mojo out of this kid? He lives a hop skip and jump from TCO. I fucking love this kid.

A couple big differences between Darnold and JJ...
McCarthy will get the ball out on time. We won't be seeing him holding the ball for 4+ seconds on pass plays. Also, if nothing is open he has the speed and agility to extend plays with his legs and pick up yards on QB scrambles. Darnold can run a bit, but JJ will legitimately take off for some yards. Excited to see what this kid can do next season. BOOM

The day after the Rams blowout, I found a Youtube video of McCarthy highlights at Michigan.
By the time we get to OTAs and TC, he will have a year and a half under the mental coaching of KOC. If you look at these highlights, you'll note how he is hitting receivers in stride, not overthrowing them, not throwing behind them. Throwing a very catchable ball, dropping dimes. I'm not sure what got into Darnold, but his aim was way off in those last two games. Yet he had some really solid games (ATL). I am fine with letting this play out as it may. If Darnold gets a bank-breaking offer, we wish you nothing but the best. If they opt to sign him to a $41mm franchise tag, they know better than me. If they let him walk...and we end up with Danny Dimes as our Backup (what about the very serviceable Mullens?) KOC and Kwesi both know the value of a solid backup, as the pain of Cousins going down last season is still seared in their memory. Bottom line: I am totally comfortable with JJM running this offense next season as the starter. Thanks for the refresher of that pre-season game. That's the impression I was left with and it's good to refresh it in the front of my mind, not the back.

I'm curious how long he's been getting QB Dropback type snaps. Has he been practicing QB type things for like a month or just very recently? It'd be nice if he was able to be getting reps in while everyone was in the building.
