College Football Playoffs
#1
What does everybody think so far? Last night's Notre Dame vs Penn State game was one of the best college football games I've ever seen. As a lifelong ND fan....wow. Just straight guts and determination. Looking forward to Ohio State vs Texas tonight. I don't know that it should be expanded any more than it already is, but the playoff format has been great so far.

I enjoyed the game last night, others apparently not so much.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?

It was close, that's the best thing to say about it. If you're a ND fan, I'm sure you liked it more than others. As PF said, how these 4 got into the Finals is a head scratcher other than Ohio State. Texas should have lost to Arizona State. Like I said, I wish either Texas or ND would beat Ohio State but I can't see it happening. I have no dog in the fight, Notre Dame has been so irrelevant for so long that I had forgotten I used to dislike them. Once Day got it through his thick skull to start using the passing game and the best core of WRers in college football, things got a lot easier for Ohio State. He wanted to beat Michigan up and prove they were tougher, so he tried to run the football and punch the Wolverines in the mouth: they failed miserably. And this was with the worst QB situation I've ever seen in Michigan history. If he would have used those talented WRers instead, they probably would have smoked Michigan. But Ryan Day is an idiot....and he learned a lesson.

Tale of two halves really. I enjoyed it, but I could see a ND fan thinking it was amazing. I don't think it was amazing, but it was fun to watch.

That's the big difference between Penn State and the two teams playing tonight is the receivers. I think I read Allar didn't complete a single pass to a receiver last night and granted ND has a good secondary, but still...that's a ridiculous stat for someone who is supposed to be a top QB prospect. Ohio State obviously has the best receivers left in the playoffs but that's really been the case for them for the last 4 or 5 years and hasn't really done much, so we'll see how it plays out.

I'm glad someone else enjoyed it...Tale of 2 halves in terms of enertainment. I am sure Irish fans are happy as heck.

I thought both QB's were pedestrian and Allar (in particular) looked overmatched and played like shit. I do like a lot of the  Nittany Lions D personnel and their TE is going to be a high #1 pick, just exemplary.

Jeremiah Smith and Treyvon Henderson are the guys I want to watch tonight...I know the world is full of good WR's, but Smith is special.

Moss, Jefferson, Chase special.

Tx has some D players and an OL or 2 I would love to see in Purple some day. I think they are under-achievers vs their hype. That sounds weird given they are playing tonight.
