The football world has lost their minds....

Ha! I have a feeling we're going to see a lot of this shit. How long before Mike Florio says the Vikings should trade JJ, and Charlie Walters hears this and says he's "hearing" that the Vikings could trade JJ, before Florio uses Walters as an "inside source" confirming all this? Oh it's already happened, just the other JJ.

A few months ago this kind of talk was insane and as a JJM fan, I wouldn't trade him, however if the Vikes really believed that Darnold was a long time solution, would getting a huge haul for JJM really be something they would have to consider. Just think of this year's version of Darnold along with some draft picks that could improve our OL, DL and secondary.

What a let down for JJ that would have to be. Going from KOC to the shit show that is the Jets.
I believe there is zero chance they trade JJ. Think back to ‘98 when Brad Johnson got hurt, Cunningham had an all world season, then settled back to not really wanting to play in ‘99 and Johnson went on to be a Super Bowl Champion QB. (I know it was the defense). they traded the future for a single season. I don’t think Kwesi will do that.

I feel like 2 weeks ago I was told there's 0.0% chance JJM gets traded lol. Things move fast in the NFL. Just about everything is for sale, for a price. We desperately tried to get the Patriots to "take our money" last draft and they declined. I'm guessing the Vikings will be the ones doing the rebuffing this year, but I bet KO and KAM will enjoy being on the other side of it.
My preference is Sam and JJM are both back, but if that doesn't happen let's recoup assets for the odd man out. I'm glad the media is coming around to this idea. Letting Sam walk would be lunacy and the more people shouting that into a microphone the better, I say.

While I think it's very unlikely, I no longer think there is a zero percent chance JJ gets traded. I also agree that the best case scenario for the Vikings might be to just keep them both. At least for a year. But if someone offers a stupid trade for one or the other? I think we should maybe listen. I would love to have BOTH of them under contract if or when that happens.

You always got to listen...KAM wouldn't be doing his job if he didn't pick-up the phone when it rings.
I'm also in the camp that I would like to keep both for a year. It buys us time, lets us further assess JJM. Get some assets when one leaves. I dont know what the hell I do with Dimes in that scenario? I think thats where this moves to 3d chess in terms of options and possibilities.

If we trade JJ McCarthy, I'm done with this franchise.
The smart, prudent thing to do is keep Darnold and JJ for one more season and let JJ compete for the job. If he wins it, trade Darnold. If he doesn't, Darnold can keep this team competitive in 2025 and we keep developing JJ. No guarantee this version of Sam sticks in 2025. And if he does, why wouldn't we want to have a young, talented QB behind him that is entering his 2nd year as insurance in the event Darnold misses time? Remember when we had Kirk and no one behind him? Kirk blows his Achilles and our season was toast without a viable option to step in. We'd be idiots to go back to that scenario one year after getting burned by it.

There is no reason to even entertain the thought of trading JJ. I personally think that they feel there is no way they will trade away JJ, whom they love, for a one year wonder, as of now. Now if he repeats on the franchise tag, which I feel that is the way they will go, then its a definite conversation in 2026

essentially a first, 2-4ths, and 4th round draft pick back up RB? Get the fuck out..... we used a first and gave up a 4th and 5th for JJM and a 7th, if JJM would really be the #1 overall pick or at least the #1 QB... then anything short of the haul it would take for a team to move up from their current position to get the #1 spot should be a starting point for JJM this year IMO, maybe a slight discount for the 1 year lost on a rookie deal, but we need to also account for the education we have given the lad.
Why isn't Chuck Foreman in the Hall of Fame?
